At the Eastern City Gate of the Royal Capital, John stood quietly on the broad platform outside the gate, filled with reluctance and affection. In his arms, he gently held the beautiful woman, Natasha, who was weeping like a rain-soaked pear blossom yet remained enchanting.
At that moment, John's heart was heavy because the person in his embrace was about to leave him. Although they had spent less than half a month together, that time had undoubtedly been a passionate and sweet romance for both of them. Every moment and every embrace were deeply etched in their hearts.
"Go now, my dear. Believe that this parting is only temporary; it will surely lead to a more joyful reunion tomorrow," John said softly, suppressing the pain within him. However, despite his words, how could he bear to let Natasha leave?
Natasha understood this well, but she truly did not want to part ways. Especially after these past two days spent with John, which had left her entranced and intoxicated in the world of love. Having not had a man's company for so long, the thought of returning to those lonely days made her heart ache.
"I will return as soon as I can; you must wait for me! Once I finish my business, I will come back to the Royal Capital immediately," Natasha choked out, tears streaming down her cheeks uncontrollably.
"Don't worry, my darling. I will be here waiting for your return. After all, seeing such a beautiful woman like you in tears would break my heart," John gently comforted Natasha. After a long while, he finally succeeded in sending the lovely woman off in the departing carriage.
Once the carriage disappeared at the end of the road, John slowly turned around and began to walk towards the Royal Capital.
At that moment, Kuiradi, who had been quietly waiting nearby, cautiously asked, "My lord, are we heading to the military camp now?"
John's lips curled into a slight smile as he glanced at Kuiradi and replied leisurely, "Oh dear, why are you in such a hurry? We still have an entire day of leave granted by Your Majesty!"
With that said, he quickly wiped away any traces of sadness from his earlier farewell—his red-rimmed eyes and tearful expression vanished as if they had never existed. In an instant, his face adopted a nonchalant and carefree demeanor as if all previous emotions were merely an act.
Then, with a grand gesture of his hand, John called out boldly, "Come on, brothers! Let us head to the enchanting pleasure quarters of the Royal Capital and have a good time!"
This sudden change left Kuiradi speechless for a moment as he stared in astonishment. After a while, he regained his composure and thought to himself: So it turns out that my lord's earlier display of heartbreak and teary eyes was all just for show! However, on second thought, going to the pleasure quarters didn’t seem so bad after all.
Kuiradi quickly responded, "My lord, please follow me! I’ve already heard that the pleasure quarters in the Eastern City of the Royal Capital are second to none!"
As soon as he finished speaking, he hurriedly stepped forward, eager not to miss this rare opportunity. After all, for Kuiradi, having a chance to experience the beauties of the Royal Capital was quite an exciting prospect.
