Napoleon was pleased to see John's understanding. "I have observed your training results, but it is still insufficient. The Hecha Kingdom requires one hundred thousand soldiers to participate in battle. What you need to do now is expand the army. Starting today, you can freely recruit and train troops, but I have one requirement: they must be ready for the battlefield in ten months. The Hecha Kingdom has suffered too many defeats."

Back at the barracks, John reflected on the day's events, feeling overwhelmed. What a joke! After ten years in this new world, he still felt as if he were surrounded by a fog. When he first crossed over, he thought it was a low-magic realm, only to discover the existence of Sanctuary, where one could not only fly but also summon meteors from the sky.
Not long ago, he had unearthed information about Dragonborn Treasure and learned of the invasion from another realm. The humans he belonged to were actually beings from this other world. Today, there was talk of chaotic battles involving the Twelve Kingdoms. Just how deep did this world’s waters run? He suddenly felt an urge to return to Salted Fish Territory and rely on templates to survive until he could figure out Sanctuary.
There was too much information today; his mind felt like it was on fire. He remembered Napoleon mentioning something about fighting in alternate dimensions. What was that about? Wasn't that just a secret realm from novels? The format of group battles seemed uncertain; all he could do was prepare as best as he could.
"Forget it," he thought. "Everyone has their own lives to lead." He needed to recruit soldiers—how on earth would he manage one hundred thousand?
The number of soldiers was giving John a headache. The Royal Capital Guard had eight divisions; if fully staffed, they could muster around eighty thousand troops. If he could find some auxiliary forces, that might work out. But looking at the division he had just taken over, even if they were at full strength, they might only retain half—around forty thousand—which left a significant gap. Fortunately, the capital was vast and rich in resources; there would be no shortage of recruits.
As he pondered how to post recruitment notices for tomorrow, John suddenly understood why the local nobles hadn’t protested when he reorganized the Royal Capital Guard. They must have known what was coming and were just waiting for him to take charge. No wonder that Legion Commander had been the first to flee; they were afraid of dying in a chaotic battle.
"Unbelievable," John muttered to himself. "They all eagerly took their pay but ran off when trouble arose, leaving me in the dark."
The next day came, and life had to go on. John had no intention of running away; besides, he couldn't even if he wanted to—he wasn't alone anymore; behind him stood a hundred sons. Although they looked so alike that it was hard to tell them apart, they were still his flesh and blood. He couldn’t let them down because of his own troubles. Moreover, as an Epic Level Expert, he should be able to survive whatever came next.
