Hearing these words, everyone seemed to stagger slightly before hastily making their way past Napoleon King, rushing straight toward the enormous dining table laden with food behind him. However, as they caught sight of the various succulent meats piled high on the table, memories of past horrors surged back, as if they were once again standing on a bloody and brutal battlefield.
In an instant, everyone instinctively covered their mouths with both hands, their stomachs churning violently, followed by waves of uncontrollable retching. Among them, John was the most agitated. He waved his hands desperately and shouted, "Get this away! Quickly take all this meat away! We only want vegetables!" His voice echoed across the open space.
Although the busy chefs around them had no idea what terrifying experiences John and the others had gone through, they noticed that Napoleon King remained silent and gave no instructions. They dared not delay and quickly sprang into action, removing the meat dishes from the table and replacing them with platters of fresh and appetizing vegetables.
As John and his soldiers gazed at the newly arranged dishes before them, their eyes lit up like hungry tigers pouncing on prey. They began to devour the food voraciously, looking as if they might burst from overeating.
Once they had finished their meal in a whirlwind of consumption, John contentedly patted his round belly, which resembled a ball. He then lifted his wine glass and drank it all in one go. At that moment, he truly felt alive again.
Perhaps it was due to sheer exhaustion or perhaps the effects of alcohol; just after finishing his drink, John's body suddenly lurched forward, and he fell heavily to the ground, snoring loudly as he sank into a deep sleep.
What kind of place is this? Looking up at the unfamiliar high ceiling, John couldn't help but feel puzzled. He slowly sat up, rubbed his eyes, and tried to bring his vision into focus. As he surveyed his surroundings and was about to call out for someone to come over and ask what was happening, he suddenly saw a knight dressed in splendid attire approaching him with an air of nobility.
The knight came closer, first bowing respectfully to John before speaking: "Esteemed Marquis, Your Majesty has been waiting for you to awaken."
Upon hearing this, John was taken aback. Marquis? He clearly remembered that he was merely an Earl! Could it be that he had somehow crossed over? And inexplicably been promoted in rank?
With this thought in mind, a look of confusion crossed John's face. The knight noticed his expression and quickly explained: "Marquis John, please forgive my presumption. Your title was announced publicly by Your Majesty upon your return to the royal city. Now we are just waiting for you to attend the formal coronation ceremony."
After hearing this explanation, John finally understood the situation but still felt bewildered and perplexed. He then promptly asked, "So please tell me, how long have I been asleep?"
Facing John's inquiry, the knight did not dare to be negligent and answered honestly: "My lord, you have been in a deep sleep for five whole days and nights."
