Four massive sailing ships slowly approached the shore, and with a series of dull thuds, they docked steadily at the pier. On the shore, a large contingent of fully armed soldiers marched in disciplined formation, followed closely by groups of ragged, haggard Serfs.
Ladders were swiftly lowered to the edges of each ship's deck, forming a passageway connecting the land to the vessels. Soon after, a multitude of members from the Bear Mercenary Group surged onto the decks like a tidal wave, wielding Whips and clubs, mercilessly driving out the nearly incapacitated orc slaves from the ship's hold. These unfortunate orc slaves staggered forward, some needing to lean on each other just to move.
The members of the Bear Mercenary Group roughly shoved them out of the ship's hold, herding them down the ladders like livestock. In an instant, the entire port was bustling with activity, as the crowd seemed to fill this once spacious area. Orc slaves of various skin tones and sizes, shackled with heavy chains, struggled to move deeper into the port under the relentless pushing and shoving from the Bear Mercenary Group.
However, what John commanded in the Bear Mercenary Group extended far beyond Kuiradi's single unit. In fact, he had seven slave-catching ships traversing these waters. Every month, multiple ships returned fully loaded to this busy port.
Currently, most of the slave-catching operations in Blink County had fallen into John's hands and those of his subordinates. Whenever orcs were transported to this port, merchants from all over would come rushing in to purchase them. Even with entire ships of orc slaves arriving daily, the supply still fell far short of market demand.
If it weren't for the orc race's strong reproductive capabilities, it wouldn't be long before John's Bear Mercenary Group captured all the orcs in this area.
At this moment, the newly disembarked orc slaves were taken to what was referred to as an auction house onshore.
Though called an auction house, it was merely an open expanse of land. Here, over seven hundred orc slaves from four ships stood in neat rows, waiting for merchants to come and select them.
A large number of slave traders approached slowly under tight guard from a group of fully armed and well-trained soldiers. Each trader wore a serious expression and sharp gaze as if inspecting precious commodities.
These orcs were tall and muscular, exuding a powerful sense of strength. The slave traders skillfully approached them, first prying open their mouths to examine their teeth for alignment and sturdiness; then they would squeeze various parts of the orcs' bodies to assess their strength and endurance.
It should be noted that these orcs were highly sought after by inland nations; different countries across the vast continent had their unique preferences. For instance, northern kingdoms favored capturing beautiful and mysterious elves as prized possessions; western nations held a special fondness for industrious and intelligent dwarves; while in John's Hecha Kingdom located in the south, nobles favored robust orcs above all else. Once these orcs were successfully sold to other countries, they became treasures beyond compare.
Nobles from distant kingdoms flocked eagerly towards these orcs. They often spent lavish sums to acquire them as loyal and valiant guards to showcase their status and wealth.
Moreover, there were some nobles driven by curiosity—especially widowed women living alone—who would not hesitate to buy orcs into their homes for personal amusement and entertainment.
