One day, Yun Yi suddenly felt a wave of fatigue wash over him. He paused his work, preparing to take a short break.
From a physical standpoint, entities like Steve should not experience fatigue, yet he undeniably felt a form of mental exhaustion pressing down on him. This sensation was as real as the weariness one feels from laboring in Stamina.
Inside that narrow, dimly lit mine devoid of natural light, repeating the same actions over and over could indeed drive a person mad! Especially considering that in "Minecraft," mining Iron Ore had become quite effortless due to game mechanics. Even so, prolonged labor still left him feeling somewhat uncomfortable, not to mention the immense challenges faced by real-life miners.
He then checked his surroundings and discovered that his Level had reached an impressive milestone! This surprised Yun Yi: how had he leveled up so quickly? His gaze fell upon the mountain of coal blocks piled on the ground, a result that was both unexpected and logical.
He pondered to himself: how much time had actually passed down here? It felt as if he were in an ancient temple deep within the mountains, far removed from the hustle and bustle of the world; the mine similarly lacked any sense of time. Unfortunately, despite the existence of craftable clocks in "Minecraft," Yun Yi currently lacked the necessary skills to create one.
Crafting a clock required Gold Coins and Redstone Dust, with the latter being particularly troublesome for Yun Yi. While he still had ways to acquire Gold Coins, he was utterly at a loss when it came to obtaining Redstone Dust. Redstone was a unique resource found only within the game and did not exist in reality.
However, Yun Yi maintained a calm mindset. He thought that lacking certain items was no big deal. Although he could not experience the infinite possibilities of Redstone Technology in real life, other advanced items in "Minecraft" would certainly astonish anyone from the late Eastern Han dynasty.
He constantly reminded himself to cultivate a sense of contentment and gratitude. Perhaps it would be nice to take a moment to enjoy the scenery and change his mood.
He mused quietly to himself. After engaging in mechanical tasks for so long, occasionally changing his environment for some reflection could help relax his mind and alleviate mental pressure.
He promptly placed the Magic Pickaxe into his backpack and began to ascend towards the surface, retracing his steps one by one. This experience made him acutely aware of how adventurous he truly was. It had taken him only a few seconds to reach the bottom of the mine, but this return journey consumed nearly three minutes, and he still had not encountered the pile of rocks sealing the exit.
Fortunately, the coal deposits in this area were abundant, and he had brought enough wood to craft torches, ensuring that he had ample light throughout his journey. When he finally reached the cave entrance, he took out the Enchanted Iron Pickaxe and struck at the obstacles a few times, causing them to crumble away instantly.
However, the scene outside was not what he had expected. Instead of the warm sunlight he anticipated, he was greeted by another dark night. Yun Yi couldn't help but feel astonished: had he really been digging down there for an entire day and a night? The intensity of such work was comparable to that of a profession where one labored for a week straight, working hours each day.
Fortunately, all of this effort was for his own achievement; if it had been for someone else, Yun Yi might have begun to question the meaning of life itself.
Once he stood on solid ground, he noticed a significant change in his surroundings. The once scattered refugees were now gathered around several campfires in an orderly manner. Some were gazing at the stars in contemplation, others lay resting or sleeping, while a few engaged in quiet conversations. Most notably, everyone seemed to exude more vitality and hope, their eyes sparkling with light.
Seeing this scene, Yun Yi furrowed his brow as speculation arose in his mind. Such a remarkable transformation in just one day clearly indicated that Zhang Jiao had taken some action. Considering this, he decided to blend in with the group of refugees to better understand the current situation. However, first, he needed to remove his conspicuous iron armor; otherwise, this meticulously crafted armor would easily reveal his different identity, making it difficult for him to convince others that he was just an ordinary member among them.
