Scarlet Fungus and Deep Fungi primarily serve to attract and promote the growth of Endermen, much like Blaze Rods and Wart Hogs. Before the connection to the End dimension is established, their functions may seem somewhat secondary.
However, Red Mushrooms and Brown Mushrooms offer a much richer variety of uses. For instance, by applying Bone Meal, their growth can be accelerated. Both Red Mushrooms and Brown Mushrooms can grow to a considerable size, making them suitable for constructing Mushroom Architecture. The two forms differ in appearance once matured.
The mature Red Mushroom will develop a large cap. Theoretically, as long as the space beneath the cap is filled with Blocks and a door is installed, it can form a complete Mushroom House. In contrast, the mature Brown Mushroom will reveal a smooth and expansive Mushroom Platform.
If you are looking for a simple and quick way to establish a mushroom dwelling, the Red Mushroom is the preferred choice. However, if you wish to build on a larger scale with more intricate designs, the Brown Mushroom is essential. It provides architects with a spacious base to unleash their creativity.
