In this way, a considerable amount of time was wasted during the journey. Additionally, there was another issue at hand: without the Efficiency Enchanted Book attached to the Iron Axe, it was impossible to fell trees in one go. Typically, it required several strikes to bring a tree down.
Fortunately, Yun Yi had exceptionally fast hands, and with the aid of both hands, he could chop down a dead tree over ten or twenty meters tall in just about a second, making him resemble a walking pile driver. Throughout the night, Yun Yi hardly took a break, thanks to his unique ability to go without rest. Otherwise, his body would have collapsed from exhaustion long ago.
However, all this hard work was well worth it. That night, Yun Yi felled thousands of trees, clearing an area of nearly one square meter (approximately one mu) in the vast dead forest, and the rewards were plentiful. From the wood alone, he managed to cut out thirty thousand wooden blocks and also collected nearly thirty bundles of Seedling and over ten bundles of apples—quite a bountiful harvest.
Considering his current storage space, Yun Yi began to assess his situation. The little dog had space for ten boxes; the Flatbed Cart could carry four large boxes; and his backpack could hold forty item slots. All together, he could only carry a limited amount of wooden Block.
After careful consideration, Yun Yi decided to convert some of the wood into boxes. It required two wooden Blocks to craft one box. By mass-producing them, he could significantly reduce the excess wood. Thus, Yun Yi quickly returned home and approached the Crafting Table.
He opened the Crafting Table, transformed a large quantity of wood into wooden planks, and then crafted boxes. In total, he used ten thousand wooden Blocks to create five thousand boxes. Although five thousand boxes seemed like a lot, he wasn't worried about having too many. Boxes had various applications—whether for storage, keeping food fresh, or transporting goods.
Moreover, with the anticipated expansion of Zhao Family Village, not only would these five thousand boxes be sufficient, but even if that number doubled or tripled in the future, it might still not meet the demand.
After everything was organized, before Yun Yi could call anyone, Guan Yu woke up.
"You're awake?" Yun Yi asked.
Guan Yu nodded slightly, his somewhat hazy gaze gradually returning to clarity. "County Chief, did you not rest at all last night?"
"I don't need to sleep," Yun Yi replied, then pointed to the flatbed cart loaded with red dates. "By the way, would you be willing to lend me this cart?"
Guan Yu showed no hesitation regarding the request for the flatbed cart and answered cheerfully with a wave of his hand, "If the County Chief needs the cart, feel free to take it. It’s not worth much anyway. As for the red dates, if you can’t keep them, it’s no big deal to throw them away."
Yun Yi smiled in response. "Wasting is not good; it’s better to put them here for now." The red dates on the flatbed cart were not many and would only take up two slots in his backpack at most.
With a light wave of his hand, Yun Yi easily packed the red dates into his backpack. In fact, they didn’t even fill up two slots completely; they only occupied about half of the space.
After that, he placed four large brown boxes on the flatbed cart and secured them tightly with game material. If ordinary game material were used for securing them, it probably wouldn’t be enough to support the weight of the boxes without falling apart. However, this was game material from within the game, and its toughness was comparable to that of iron rope of the same thickness. After all, this type of game material could only be obtained by destroying spider webs.
In real life, spider silk is not inferior to iron chains of the same diameter. Therefore, unless specialized tools are used, such as swords or scissors, an average person would find it nearly impossible to damage it.
