His eyes gleamed with curiosity. He paused his work and carefully observed his surroundings, hoping to find the source of the sound. However, it was puzzling; the sound seemed to come from all directions. After all, the mine that Yun Yi was digging was not large, measuring only about two meters in length and width. Clearly, these sounds did not originate from within the mine itself. So where were they coming from?
Yun Yi furrowed his brow tightly. After studying the area for a long time, he found nothing unusual. He decided to ignore the strange sounds and focused on digging deeper.
After digging a few hundred meters further down, the anguished cries became even more pronounced. Wait! Was that sound coming from even deeper? Good heavens! I am nearly ten thousand meters below the surface! And it claims to be coming from below?

In just over ten minutes, he had excavated a passageway over ten thousand meters deep, approaching the twenty-thousand-meter mark. He cleared a small area ahead and placed two Storage Boxes there. Then he took out some essential items from his backpack, including the enchanted iron pickaxe, a Crafting Table, wooden resources, and even his entire set of armor, placing them all into the boxes.

Thus, Yun Yi abandoned the method of digging layer by layer and instead began to dig straight down vertically. Although he lacked the Efficiency magic-enhanced pickaxe, his digging speed was still significantly affected. Yet even with ordinary tools, the effectiveness of a standard iron pickaxe should not be underestimated. By alternating between two iron pickaxes, he was still able to maintain a digging rate of about three meters per second.
