The flickering light seemed to have truly reached its limit this time, blinking twice before going out again. In the darkness, a familiar fluorescent glow emerged, and Anlius felt a chill run down his spine. The familiar liquid, the familiar test tubes, and the familiar fluorescence—it was just like you! A worthless potion! 0

Before Anlius could react, Ye Wumeng swiftly yanked the Pharmacology Compendium and stuffed it into his clothing, wearing an innocuous smile on his face. 0

"Freebie, hehe," Ye Wumeng said. 0

"Not hehe," Anlius retorted, his frustration boiling over. 0

Damn it! 0

Anlius gritted his teeth as he glared at Ye Wumeng, his face flushing crimson in an instant. Veins bulged on his forehead, throbbing rhythmically, while his lips quivered slightly as he struggled to suppress the urge to unleash a torrent of curses. 0

If it were anything else, he could let it slide; he could simply say it wasn’t worth ten thousand Blue Vouchers. But this potion had been personally certified by him as being worth ten thousand Blue Vouchers! To claim it wasn’t worth that was nothing short of slapping himself in the face. Moreover, Ye Wumeng had already snatched the book! 0

He had stolen it! 0

Anlius turned his head away, taking deep breaths in an attempt to calm himself. However, judging by the deep crimson hue of his face, akin to that of a liver, it was clear he had failed. 0

The white moonlight gently spilled into the dark little room through the window; it was time for the refugees outside to engage in their activities. 0

Time was running short. 0

Having accomplished all his goals, Ye Wumeng didn’t want to linger any longer; he feared that staying would only infuriate Anlius further. 0

“It’s getting late, Mr. Anlius,” he said as he prepared to take his leave. 0

Just then, a piercing scream echoed from outside the little house. 0

“Help! Help me!” 0

Ye Wumeng turned around to see a refugee standing at the door, clutching their wrist and wearing tattered clothes, desperately calling for help. 0

Ye Wumeng narrowed his eyes as he observed the person’s pale face resembling that of a ghost. Beads of sweat rolled down their forehead continuously; their eyes were bloodshot and trembling lips repeated pleas for help. 0

“Save me! Mr. Anlius! Please help me!” 0

The person stumbled into the shop and collapsed before Ye Wumeng with a thud, pressing their forehead against the ground and repeatedly trembling as they begged for assistance. 0

Why are you kneeling before me? 0

Ye Wumeng quickly jumped back, glancing at Anlius behind him whose face still bore a hint of red warmth. 0

“Ahem, I am Anlius. Are you here to seek the Corpse Poison antidote?” 0

Anlius clasped his hands behind his back and strode over to stand before the person, looking down at them from above. 0

"Please! Please! Help me!" 0

The man fell to his knees, crawling and rolling toward Anlius, his breath coming in quick gasps as he spoke rapidly. 0

Ye Wumeng stood nearby, quietly observing the scene, feeling a pang of regret in his heart. There was no potion that could cleanse Corpse Poison. If it weren't for the system, he would likely be in the same desperate situation as this man. 0

Tsk, I want to save you too, but I don't have many potions to begin with, and making them is extremely troublesome. Hmph, using one to save your life... 0

Anlius crossed his arms, his tone mocking. This attitude reminded Ye Wumeng of the first time he had encountered Anlius. Indeed, in the apocalypse, if you had no value, you had no leverage for negotiation—even if the person in front of you was a con artist! 0

Hearing this, the refugee lifted his head as if struck by a thought. Gritting his teeth, he pulled out a golden object from the tattered clothing he wore. 0

Anlius glanced at it, his eyes widening in shock! 0

It was a watch radiating a golden hue! 0

"Mr. Anlius, I am willing to offer this watch in exchange for the potion that can save my life," the refugee said, trembling as he held out the golden watch with both hands, kneeling before Anlius. 0

Gulp! 0

Anlius swallowed hard as he took the watch from the man's hands and examined it closely. Ye Wumeng then asked, "You look like someone who couldn't afford something like this. How did you come by it?" 0

The refugee raised his head; his left eye had already turned a shade of gray. Looking at Ye Wumeng, who was dressed neatly, he swallowed again. 0

"There are always some fools who come to the Refugee Zone to rob. If they see anything on you, they will take it. If you resist, you might even get killed." 0

As he spoke further, he hesitated to meet Ye Wumeng's gaze. After all, someone like Ye Wumeng was like a Blue Voucher in the eyes of refugees—whoever got to them first would claim them. 0

Just like this Golden Watch. 0

"Well then, I'll take a bit of a loss to save your life," Anlius said as he quickly pocketed the Golden Watch and turned to grab a bottle of transparent potion glowing with blue light from a shelf against the wall. 0

Ye Wumeng frowned slightly upon seeing it. 0

"Isn't this a trash potion?" 0

[Unknown Mixture: Unknown Mixture contains some Undead energy and a large amount of impurities. After consumption, it accelerates the corpse transformation process. Once fully transformed into a corpse, the potion will slowly decompose its flesh over time, causing its bodily tissues and cells to gradually fall apart. Due to premature transformation and the small portion of Undead energy protecting it, some consciousness will linger within the Undead body until it ultimately dissipates along with its physical form.] 0

[Note: Want to witness your own corpse slowly fading away? Take a sip and satisfy your curiosity.] 0

What on earth is this?! 0

Ye Wumeng's mind was thrown into turmoil; he had never imagined that such terrifying potions still existed in this world! 0

Watching his own corpse transform into a monster, and then seeing himself slowly turn into a puddle of flesh? 0

Ye Wumeng looked at the description of the potion on the system interface, trying his best to suppress the expression on his face to appear normal, but the muscles on his face continued to twitch. 0

"Thank you! Thank you, Mr. Anlius!" 0

The refugee repeatedly expressed gratitude to Anlius, eagerly taking the potion and attempting to open it to drink, only to be stopped by Anlius. 0

"Hey, hold on. Find a safe place to take it. After all, removing the Corpse Poison from your body is a long process, during which you won't be able to move. Besides, this place isn't exactly safe." 0

Anlius pressed his withered palm against the refugee's hand, a hint of warmth appearing on his aged face, his tone sincere. 0

"If it weren't for my system, I would have believed you!" 0

Ye Wumeng thought to himself, feeling his trust in Anlius plummet. 0

This old man is not trustworthy. 0

"Thank you, Mr. Anlius!" 0

The refugee exclaimed excitedly as he sprang up and dashed out of the small room, disappearing from sight. 0

"Haha, you're truly a master, sir! I see it's getting dark; I'll take my leave now." 0

Ye Wumeng maintained a smile on his face and quickly turned to leave. 0

As the small room fell silent, Anlius stepped lightly, revealing a dark Underground Passage beneath the floorboards. 0

He entered it and soon emerged with a Blue Card and a pair of Mechanical Gloves. 0

Inserting the Blue Card projected a blue light into his eyes. 0

He could see a blue screen materializing before him with a line of text appearing: 0

【Refugee Zone Sample has been delivered. Please verify the potion as soon as possible.】 0

Without hesitation, Anlius swiftly moved his fingers in the air twice before putting on the gloves. 0

【Potion verified. Please proceed with observation.】 0

Then, on the Blue Light Screen appeared a creature that was neither human nor ghost. 0

Its eyes revealed an expression of terror. 0

It looked almost human! 0
