Park Bucheng felt a chill run down his neck, and his body instantly stiffened. Damn it, had he been exposed so quickly? His mind raced as his fingers trembled slightly, preparing to unleash the Six Meridians Divine Sword. 0

"Turn around." The voice behind him was cold as ice, cutting through the air like shards of glass, making his eardrums ache. 0

Park Bucheng slowly turned, his heart pounding like a drum. Before him stood a tall woman with sharp features, her short hair glinting coldly under the dim streetlight. In her hand was a dagger, its blade gleaming menacingly as it pointed directly at his throat. 0

"Li Meili?" As he recognized her, Park let out a long breath, the tension in his nerves relaxing instantly. "You scared the hell out of me; I almost ended up cosplaying as a blind monk." He feigned nonchalance by patting his chest, but the fleeting glint of murderous intent in his eyes betrayed him. 0

"Shh!" Li Meili raised a finger to her lips, signaling him to be quiet. Her vigilant gaze swept across the dim corners around them like a wary leopard ready to pounce on its prey. "I just came from the club and found something interesting; we need to get out of here quickly." 0

Park narrowed his eyes, secretly speculating: This woman isn’t planning something tricky, is she? He pretended to be casual as he took a half step back to create some distance while discreetly observing Li Meili's movements, ready for any sudden developments. He calculated the value of the intelligence regarding Southern District's plans against West District; it was significant, but how to utilize it required careful thought. This was a great opportunity for advancement—if handled properly, he might even replace that old fox Li Zhenghao. 0

Li Meili sheathed her dagger and turned to leave, her steps light yet imbued with undeniable determination. Park followed closely behind her, his thoughts swirling like a tangled mess. 0

By the time they returned to Gang Stronghold, it was already three in the morning. Under the dim lights, Li Zhenghao sat in his office, an ashtray overflowing with cigar butts on his desk, the air thick with the pungent scent of nicotine. It seemed this old fox hadn’t slept well either; Park smirked inwardly, realizing he too sensed the gravity of the situation. 0

"Let’s hear it; what’s going on?" Li Zhenghao got straight to the point, his tone low and tinged with barely concealed agitation. 0

Park feigned exhaustion, rubbing his temples. "Boss, there’s definitely some movement from Southern District. They've been frequently mobilizing personnel lately; it seems they’re preparing for something big." He deliberately paused to gauge Li Zhenghao's reaction. "However, I still need to investigate further for specific targets." He decided to withhold the information about Southern District's plans against West District for now to buy himself more time for strategizing. 0

Li Zhenghao narrowed his eyes, his gaze piercing as if he could see right through him. "What are you hiding?" 0

"No, boss," Park quickly explained. "I just think things aren’t that simple. The activity from Southern District is too unusual; I’m worried there might be a trap." He added cautiously, "We need to proceed with caution to avoid falling into their scheme." 0

Li Zhenghao stared at him for a while before suddenly laughing. "Alright, kid. You know what to say and what not to say." He continued, "It seems I was right about you; you have potential." 0

Park Bucheng's heart tightened. This old fox, could he have seen through something? He struggled to maintain his composure, not letting any emotion slip. 0

"Boss, I think we need to change our approach," he quickly shifted the topic. "During this infiltration, I found numerous flaws in the Southern District's defenses—poor personnel allocation, rigid patrol routes, and blind spots in the surveillance system… If we operate like that, it’s only a matter of time before something goes wrong." He began to analyze, listing the vulnerabilities he had observed in the Southern District's defenses and proposing a new defense plan. 0

Li Zhenghao nodded repeatedly, a glimmer of appreciation in his eyes. "Not bad, you have some ideas." He added, "Alright, you’re in charge of drafting a new defense plan. Make sure it’s foolproof." 0

Park Bucheng felt a surge of joy inside. This was exactly what he wanted! Mastering the defense system meant holding the lifeline of the Gangster; soon enough, Li Zhenghao's position… 0

"By the way," Li Zhenghao suddenly asked, "How are Jingang and Li Meili performing?" 0

Park Bucheng hesitated for a moment. "Jingang is quite capable in a fight but can be a bit reckless and impulsive." He continued, "As for Li Meili… she’s sharp and knows how to handle situations well." 0

Li Zhenghao gave him a meaningful look. "Alright, you can go back and rest now. Bring me the detailed report tomorrow." 0

As Park Bucheng stepped out of the office, he let out a sigh of relief. He knew Li Zhenghao would definitely send someone to keep an eye on him. This old fox had quite the paranoia. However, this also provided him with an opportunity to lay out his plans and gain better control over the situation. 0

Back in his room, Park Bucheng began writing the report. He buried the intelligence about the Southern District's impending move against the West District deep within his words, subtly hinting at some crises while emphasizing the importance of improving Gangster's defenses. He spoke of what needed to be said and concealed what should remain hidden; this was his way of survival. 0

By the time he finished the report, dawn had arrived. Standing by the window and watching the rising sun, a cold smile crept across Park Bucheng's face. Li Zhenghao, you want to test me? Bring it on; let’s see who outsmarts whom. 0

Suddenly, his phone vibrated. A text from an unknown number read: "You're clever, but sometimes intelligence can backfire. Be careful; someone has their eyes on you." 0

Park Bucheng frowned. Who was this? A warning or a threat? Just as he was about to delete the message, his phone vibrated again. This time it was Li Zhenghao: "Come to my office right away, there's an important task." 0

Looking at the two messages, Park Bucheng suddenly felt a chill run down his spine. This morning was likely going to be anything but peaceful. 0
