“Rumei, come over here,” Lin Shuang beckoned.
Lin Rumei quickly brought Jiang Chen and Ding Yan to her father’s side. The three sat down, and Lin Shuang scrutinized Jiang Chen. He had heard his daughter mention Jiang Chen before and knew he was a Martial Arts Expert. However, upon seeing him, Lin Shuang was somewhat surprised; Jiang Chen did not look much like a Martial Arts Expert. Despite his doubts, Lin Shuang chose to trust his daughter.
“Mr. Jiang, I’ve heard Rumei speak of you. It’s a pleasure to finally meet you; you truly have an extraordinary presence,” Lin Shuang said politely.
Jiang Chen smiled faintly but did not respond. Instead, his gaze scanned the room, ultimately landing on the tea table in the center.
At that table sat an elderly man and a robust middle-aged man covered in tattoos.
“Mr. Jiang, that elderly gentleman is Elder Liang, and the man beside him is Sang Ming,” Lin Rumei whispered quickly.
Sang Ming noticed Jiang Chen looking at him but paid no mind; he had no regard for a young man.
“Is everyone here? Then let’s get down to business. I’ve gathered everyone here today because I believe we all understand the situation. Some among us are looking to clean up their acts. Of course, wanting to do so is your right, but if your desire to clean up means we can’t make money, then that’s not right,” Sang Ming said with a smirk.
“I think there’s no need for such people to hold onto their territory; it would be better to divide it up,” Sang Ming continued with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes as he glanced at Lin Shuang.
“Sang Ming, if you have something to say, just say it directly without beating around the bush,” Lin Shuang replied coldly.
“Haha, since Boss Lin has put it that way, I’ll be straightforward. Boss Lin, I’ve heard you’re cleaning up your territory more strictly than the police do. This isn’t how things are done in our line of work. If you can’t manage your own territory, then I’ll take over for you. Of course, I’ll pay you an annual fee as compensation for taking over,” Sang Ming sneered.
“My territory is not for you to manage, Sang Ming. Let me tell you this: I know you covet my territory, but as long as I’m here, you will never get it. We can coexist peacefully for now, but don’t push your luck; otherwise, it will end badly for both of us,” Lin Shuang warned in a deep voice.
“End badly? Haha, you really overestimate yourself. Don’t forget who’s by my side,” Sang Ming replied with a smug grin.
“Sang Ming, don’t get too cocky. Just because you have Elder Liang backing you doesn’t mean we’re afraid of you. If you can invite Elder Liang, then surely we can invite others as well. By the way, let me introduce Mr. Jiang; he is a top-tier Martial Arts Expert.” Seeing Sang Ming’s arrogance infuriated Lin Rumei, and she raised her voice indignantly.
At her words, all eyes turned toward “Mr. Jiang,” including Elder Liang's, who lifted his eyelids slightly and showed some interest in this Martial Arts Expert.
However, upon seeing Jiang Chen’s appearance again, Elder Liang lowered his eyelids once more and seemed disinterested.
Sang Ming openly displayed a mocking smile. “Miss Lin, what did you say? Did I hear correctly? This kid is a top-tier Martial Arts Expert? Haha,” he laughed boisterously.
“Sang Ming, to be honest, even Elder Liang might not be Mr. Jiang’s match. You’d better show some respect; otherwise, you won’t know how you ended up dead later,” Lin Rumei said with a frown and a serious tone.
