Lin Rumei stood up, suppressing her shock. Clearing her throat, she raised her voice and said, “Since Mr. Jiang has appointed me as the leader, I hope everyone will act according to Mr. Jiang's wishes from now on. I will establish rules, and as long as everyone follows them, we can all remain safe. However, if anyone oversteps these rules, it would be a violation of Mr. Jiang's intentions. The underground bosses from Hong Kong Island nodded in agreement. Even if they felt resentful, they had no choice; Jiang Chen's methods had truly intimidated them.
“Then Mr. Jiang, how about we have dinner together tonight?” Lin Rumei asked.
“You can dine with them; I’ll head back to eat,” Jiang Chen replied.

“No need for that. As the new leader, you’re busier than I am; just send someone to take me back,” Jiang Chen smiled.
Lin Rumei didn’t insist further and had someone escort Jiang Chen away. After the earlier display of authority, Lin Rumei now felt confident. Since Jiang Chen had been so domineering, she couldn’t afford to lose face.
“Miss Lin, who exactly is Mr. Jiang?” one of the bosses asked nervously.
“You and I both know that he is The Person We Can't Afford to Offend. Do you know why our Lin family has stopped cooperating with the Golden Triangle since last year?” Lin Rumei responded.
“Could it be because of this Mr. Jiang?”
“Exactly.”
“The Golden Triangle is a lucrative opportunity! Your Lin family is missing out on at least ten billion each year by not collaborating with them; can you really afford that?”
“If we could afford it, Sang Ming’s fate would be our own. Everyone here should recognize the situation; you’ve seen Mr. Jiang’s strength. Moreover, he is not a merciful person—if you defy him even slightly, it could lead to your demise,” Lin Rumei warned.
“Miss Lin, if you think that just one Mr. Jiang can make us willingly submit, you might be dreaming. We in the Hong Kong Island Underground World have our own rules; Mr. Jiang is an outsider and has no right to dictate our actions. If you disrupt our livelihoods, people will fight back fiercely; when that happens, it won’t end well for you. Can Mr. Jiang really kill everyone?” someone scoffed.
“Then feel free to try it out; others may not dare to speak up, but whoever causes trouble will undoubtedly face death,” Lin Rumei replied coldly.
The bosses fell silent, feeling anxious. If their subordinates caused trouble later on, it would not bode well for them with Mr. Jiang involved—he was too decisive when it came to killing. If it came to that point, they might not even have a chance to explain before being eliminated by Jiang Chen.
“Rumei, is this leadership position truly Mr. Jiang’s idea or yours?” Lin Shuang pulled her daughter aside and whispered.
“It’s definitely Mr. Jiang’s idea; I don’t have the ability to covet this position,” Lin Rumei said helplessly, feeling as though she had been forced into a corner.
“Sigh, this leadership role isn’t easy to handle. Even with Mr. Jiang backing you up, following his wishes means cutting off many people’s sources of income—those people won’t hesitate to fight back against you when that happens. You need to discuss this with Mr. Jiang later; otherwise, your life could be in danger at any moment,” Lin Shuang advised.
