We donned our somewhat rudimentary gear and resolutely embarked on our first significant mission. However, when we truly faced the challenges ahead, we realized just how lacking we were in skills and various other aspects. This was especially evident when it came to handling complex and critical situations like land rescue, where our abilities felt woefully inadequate. 0

After much contemplation and discussion, everyone unanimously agreed that we should focus on targeted training in rope techniques. Although we had occasionally dabbled in it before, our knowledge was superficial at best, limited to the most basic concepts. To genuinely master and proficiently wield this crucial skill, we needed to invest more effort and time. 0

Finally, on a sunny day with a gentle breeze, we resolved to venture deep into the mountains to find a suitable location for practical training. Along the way, we were filled with a mix of anticipation and anxiety, sharing our thoughts and concerns about the upcoming training. 0

In Chongqing's mountainous region, there was no shortage of hills; we chose one that was relatively popular with tourists for our practice. This not only brought us closer to real-world scenarios but also allowed us to familiarize ourselves with the terrain. 0

It was my first serious study of rope techniques; previously, I had merely learned the basics without delving deeply into the subject. Although I wasn't wearing much gear, the equipment I had still felt heavy. 0

Slowly, we began to ascend. With each increment in height, an unusual sensation grew stronger within me. When I reached about two meters off the ground, I felt a subtle shift in my heart, as if an invisible hand was gently tugging at it. And this was just the beginning. 0

Continuing to climb higher, when I reached a height of around ten meters, that feeling intensified exponentially. Looking down, the familiar ground now seemed distant and foreign. An indescribable tension surged within me; my heart raced, and my breath quickened involuntarily. 0

As I ascended further, my inner fear surged like tumultuous waves. Simultaneously, due to the lack of stable support in the air and the interference from the wind, the hanging rope began to sway uncontrollably. I felt like a leaf caught in the wind, helplessly swaying left and right. In that moment, I felt utterly alone and powerless; once I ascended higher, everything would depend solely on myself. 0

In this extreme tension, I instinctively took a deep breath and silently encouraged myself. However, facing such intense acrophobia for the first time, my will gradually succumbed to fear. Before long, my body slipped uncontrollably downwards for a short distance. 0

When I finally descended to within one or two meters of the ground, the tension that had been coiled tightly within me suddenly relaxed. At that moment, I felt like a survivor who had just escaped a near-death experience—filled with relief and gratitude. All fear and anxiety dissipated in an instant, replaced by an unprecedented sense of ease and joy. 0

Everyone then asked how I was doing and whether it was exhausting. After regaining my composure slightly, I replied that it was indeed more wobbly as I went higher. 0

Then they suggested trying again for another ascent. I agreed to give it another shot. 0
