"Now, who is in charge of the Guo Family's pharmaceutical business?" Jiang Chen asked, looking at Guo Wei Yi with a calm demeanor.
"That would be me," Guo Wei Yi replied, lifting her chin slightly, her expression proud.
"Then you should know why I am here," Jiang Chen continued. The Liu Family mentioned that the Guo Family was managed by a woman; how did it turn into a man? In the main seat of the conference room sat a beautiful young lady who seemed to be in charge, but for some reason, she hadn't claimed that role. However, Jiang Chen was too indifferent to dwell on it.
"I don't know. The Guo Family has no acquaintance with Mr. Jiang and no ties to you. I have no idea why you are here," Guo Wei Yi feigned ignorance.
"Don't know? Let me enlighten you. Last year, I stated that anyone from Huaxia who maintains contact with the Golden Triangle would face consequences. Your products contain heroin, and you've produced so much this year. Don't tell me you have no dealings with the Golden Triangle?" Jiang Chen said flatly.
"Oh, we do maintain contact with the Golden Triangle. It's business; we do what we must to make money! As for what Mr. Jiang mentioned, my cousin has brought it up as well. How about this: since you eliminated the Kunshan Group, which indeed helped our business, the Guo Family will not shortchange you—how about one hundred million?" Guo Wei Yi proposed.
"Is that so? Do you take me for a beggar? I want eighty percent of your profits!" Jiang Chen laughed.
The members of the Guo Family were taken aback; this was an outrageous demand.
"What? Eighty percent? That's impossible! Mr. Jiang, you're trying to rob us! One hundred million is already a windfall for you. What more could you want?" Guo Wei Yi exclaimed.
"If you're unwilling to part with money, then you'll have to shed some blood instead. My condition is eighty percent of the profits. Of course, I won't take it for nothing; I'll provide you with a prescription that will enhance your product's effectiveness without containing any heroin. So from now on, you cannot maintain contact with the Golden Triangle. Since you'll be producing according to my prescription, I will require eighty percent of the profits every year," Jiang Chen stated calmly, his expression neither happy nor angry.
Seeing Jiang Chen's demeanor, everyone present—except for Guo Weiqing, who looked serious—was trying to persuade him that one hundred million was already generous and urged him to take what he could get. The idea of an eighty-percent split was not even considered.
"Miss Guo, I heard that the Pharmaceutical Company is under your management. Do you think an eighty-percent split is acceptable?" Jiang Chen addressed the beautiful young lady.
"Mr. Jiang, I used to be in charge of our Pharmaceutical Company, but now I no longer have the authority to intervene in its affairs. Even if I wanted to agree to an eighty-percent split, they wouldn’t allow it," Guo Weiqing replied helplessly.
"As long as Miss Guo agrees, that's enough because the profits up until now were earned by you. As for anyone else who opposes it—just eliminate them," Jiang Chen said in a still calm tone.
But his calmness carried an alarming weight.
"You brat, if you're smart about this, take your one hundred million and leave it at that! Otherwise, you'll end up with nothing and offend our Guo Family," Guo Wei Yi retorted angrily at Jiang Chen's audacity.
This time, Jiang Chen fell silent and merely glanced at Guo Wei Yi before lightly waving his hand. From a distance, it seemed as though an invisible force struck her; she flew out of the window and plummeted from the high building.
"Wei Yi!" Her parents gasped in shock and rushed to check on her, but from such a height, falling down would surely lead to a terrible fate.
