After reuniting with Chen Xue, Liang Tian temporarily stayed in Jiangnan City, savoring the joy of being with his loved one while remaining alert to the surroundings, ready to face any challenges that might arise. Without hesitation, Liang Tian sprang into action, his feet barely touching the ground as he shot forward like lightning. In an instant, he caught up with the thief. The robber noticed someone was on his tail and turned to see Liang Tian's imposing presence. Panic set in, but he was unwilling to give up the stolen goods so easily. He drew a knife from his waist and brandished it menacingly at Liang Tian. "Stay out of this, or I'll stab you!"
A smirk appeared on Liang Tian's lips, revealing his disdain. He sidestepped effortlessly, dodging the attack before reaching out with precision akin to an eagle's talon, seizing the robber's wrist. With a slight twist, the robber cried out in pain as the knife clattered to the ground. Liang Tian then deftly twisted the robber's arm behind his back, rendering him immobile.
"Let me go!" the robber struggled but couldn't break free from Liang Tian's grip.
At that moment, the young woman caught up, breathless. Seeing the robber subdued filled her eyes with gratitude. "Thank you so much, sir! If it weren't for you, my bag would have been stolen."
Liang Tian smiled as he returned the handbag to her. "It's nothing; you deserve it. Just be more careful when you're out."
She took back her bag and quickly checked its contents, relieved to find everything intact. She looked at Liang Tian closely and noticed his extraordinary demeanor—his deep and resolute gaze sparked her curiosity and appreciation.
"Sir, I haven't caught your name yet. I'm Lin Yue, an executive at Dingsheng Group in Jiangnan City. I truly owe you one; without you, I don't know what I would have done. There were important documents in my bag; losing them would have caused me serious trouble," she introduced herself sincerely.
"I'm Liang Tian; it was just a small effort on my part," he replied modestly.
Lin Yue regarded Liang Tian with increasing admiration. In today's indifferent society, few would act so decisively to help others as he had. Moreover, his skill in subduing the robber was clean and efficient—far beyond that of an ordinary person.
"Mr. Liang, you've helped me immensely; I must express my gratitude properly. If you have time, I'd like to invite you to dinner as a token of my appreciation," Lin Yue offered earnestly.
Liang Tian initially wanted to refuse; he had saved someone not for any reward. However, Lin Yue was quite insistent. "Mr. Liang, just consider it an opportunity for me. Otherwise, I would feel really guilty."
Seeing her determination, Liang Tian had no choice but to nod in agreement. "Alright then, but just a simple meal. No need to go overboard."
When Lin Yue saw that Liang Tian had agreed, a radiant smile spread across her face. "Great! Mr. Liang, there's a really nice restaurant nearby; let's go there."
As they walked, Lin Yue chatted with Liang Tian, filled with curiosity about him and continuously asking questions. Liang Tian responded briefly, not delving too deeply into his own matters. Soon enough, they arrived at the restaurant. During the meal, Lin Yue expressed her gratitude to Liang Tian once again and mentioned that if he ever needed help in the future, he should feel free to ask; Dingsheng Group would certainly lend its full support. Liang Tian smiled and nodded in thanks, but he did not take her words to heart. What he did not know was that this chance encounter on the street would bring unexpected opportunities for both him and Xiao Zhan's careers.
