Xiao Zhan's company was thriving in collaboration with Dingsheng Group. While Liang Tian felt happy for his brother, he did not relax his own standards. He maintained his training routine, running through the streets of Jiangnan City every night to hone his body and will, while also sensing the city's atmosphere and remaining vigilant against potential dangers.
On this particular night, the moonlight was hazy, and the city's neon lights flickered, intertwining with the moon's glow. Liang Tian jogged along his familiar route when he sensed something unusual as he passed by an abandoned factory area. A faint stench of decay lingered in the air, barely perceptible in the night breeze, but for a cultivator like Liang Tian, it was overwhelmingly pungent.
A sudden impulse surged within him as he followed the scent. He stopped outside what appeared to be a long-abandoned factory. The entrance was tightly shut, surrounded by dust and cobwebs, as if it had been forgotten for years. However, Liang Tian could sense an unusual power hidden within this seemingly lifeless factory.
He lightly leaped onto the factory wall to peer inside. In the open space of the factory, a group of individuals clad in black robes formed a large circle. Within the circle lay strange props: crystals emitting an eerie glow, stones inscribed with runes, and several animal corpses that seemed to have died recently. The black-robed figures murmured incantations in low, obscure tones, as if chanting some ancient and malevolent spell.
Liang Tian's heart raced as he deduced from their actions and the scene that they were likely conducting some sort of evil ritual, possibly practicing an Evil Technique. Such techniques often involved harming living beings and drawing upon negative energies, severely violating the righteous laws of the Cultivation World.
At that moment, the ritual seemed to reach a critical stage. A tall figure wearing a hood stepped forward from among the black-robed individuals, holding a dagger as he slowly approached one of the animal corpses. He plunged the dagger into the body, and blood gushed forth instantly, flowing into a prepared trough that resonated with the crystals and rune stones, emitting an even more sinister glow.
Liang Tian furrowed his brow; he knew he had to stop this. But before taking action, he decided to uncover more about this mysterious organization’s origins and intentions. He quietly activated his Invisibility Technique and infiltrated the factory, trying to get closer to the black-robed figures to overhear their chants and conversations.
As the ritual progressed, Liang Tian gradually pieced together some information. This mysterious organization seemed to be searching for a powerful force that could enhance their strength, which required special Evil Techniques and brutal rituals to obtain. Their ambitions extended beyond mere mischief in the city; they appeared to harbor grander aspirations.
Liang Tian pondered deeply; this organization's existence posed a significant threat not only to Jiangnan City but also to the entire Cultivation World. He could not stand idly by; he needed to investigate further and find their mastermind to completely dismantle this evil force. However, he understood that since this organization dared to conduct Evil Technique practices so openly in the city, they must possess considerable strength and confidence. Acting recklessly could alert them or even lead him into danger.
After carefully weighing his options, Liang Tian decided to withdraw for now and return to discuss strategies with Xiao Zhan and Chen Xue. He cautiously exited the factory and cast one last glance at the black-robed figures still engaged in their Evil Ritual, determination flashing in his eyes. He knew that a confrontation with this evil force was about to unfold, and he would stand unwaveringly on the side of justice, protecting this city and everything he cherished.
