The dense bullets whistled past, exploding into clouds of concrete debris around Park Bucheng. Sofia's Heavy Machine Gun spat fire like the footsteps of death, relentlessly pursuing Park Bucheng. A torrent of steel rained down, riddling the warehouse walls with holes, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of gunpowder. Park Bucheng dared not slacken his pace, moving like a specter through the hail of bullets, executing Graceful Wave Steps with finesse. He darted left and right, surged forward and retreated, swaying like a willow in a storm—unpredictable yet resilient. "Damn it, is this woman a rabid dog? She won't let go!" Park Bucheng muttered under his breath as he dodged bullets. He knew he couldn't keep this up; he had to find a way to shake off Sofia's pursuit, or he would eventually be turned into a sieve.
The trajectory of the bullets was clear in his eyes; he could even feel the heat generated as they sliced through the air. Adrenaline surged, sharpening his senses to an unprecedented level. Rolling to evade a deadly spray of fire, his gaze locked onto an abandoned car not far away. "That's it!" A glint flashed in Park Bucheng's eyes as he dashed to the car, leaping onto its roof and using it as leverage to soar into the air like an eagle, gliding over Sofia's head in a graceful arc. Caught off guard by Park Bucheng's unexpected maneuver, Sofia froze momentarily. By the time she reacted, Park Bucheng had landed behind her, a cold smile curling at the corners of his mouth. "A mere trick!" Sofia scoffed, spinning around as her Heavy Machine Gun unleashed another furious burst.
But Park Bucheng had anticipated her reaction; at the moment she turned, he struck with Dragon Subduing Eighteen Palms, channeling a tempestuous force that slammed into Sofia's back. "Ugh!" she cried out, flying through the air like a kite with its string cut before crashing heavily to the ground, unconscious. Ignoring Sofia, Park Bucheng turned and continued to break through with his Gangster members. After suffering heavy losses, they finally escaped the encirclement of the Chaebol.
After the battle ended, Park Bucheng dragged his weary body to an abandoned warehouse. The place was in disarray, riddled with bullet holes and filled with the heavy scent of gunpowder. The few surviving Gangster members slumped on the ground, gasping for breath, their eyes reflecting relief at having survived. Park Bucheng surveyed his surroundings with a furrowed brow. He knew that while they had won this battle, a greater crisis loomed ahead. The Chaebol's influence was deeply entrenched and would not let this go easily. He had to find out who was behind it all to resolve this crisis once and for all.
He walked to a corner of the warehouse and crouched down to pick up a blood-stained ring. The ring was finely crafted and felt cold in his hand; it bore a distinctive mark—a grotesque skull that glimmered faintly in the dim light. Park Bucheng recognized it immediately as the emblem of a High-Level member of the Chaebol. A thought flashed through his mind: could this attack be part of an internal power struggle within the Chaebol? He recalled certain details from the fight—Kim Tae-wook's seemingly fierce attacks that always avoided vital points at crucial moments as if he were deliberately holding back; and Li Zhenghao, who had ample opportunity to strike but merely put on a show of force while clearly holding back his attacks. These details reinforced his suspicion that divisions existed within the Chaebol.
He carefully cleaned the ring and pocketed it. He understood that this ring might be key to unraveling the truth. Standing up, he approached an Intelligence Officer. "Find out where this ring came from—quickly," he commanded in a low yet authoritative voice. The Intelligence Officer took the ring and examined it closely before nodding gravely. "I will get back to you as soon as possible."
Returning to his room, Park Bucheng sat cross-legged and closed his eyes to meditate. He needed to recover quickly for the battles ahead. Outside the warehouse, night fell and cold winds howled. Suddenly, faint noises disrupted the night's tranquility. Park Bucheng opened his eyes sharply, alertness flashing in them. He quietly moved to the window and peered outside through a crack.
In the dim moonlight, he spotted two figures in black creeping toward the warehouse. They moved with agility and silence—clearly trained professionals sent by the Chaebol assassins tasked with eliminating an Intelligence Officer who held critical information. A cold smile crept across Park Bucheng's face. "Just in time!" he thought to himself. Rather than wait passively, he would take action.
Silently opening his door, he slipped outside into the night’s cover and swiftly approached the two assassins without them noticing him at all. With precise movements, he struck two pressure points on their bodies simultaneously; they froze like wooden stakes in place, their eyes wide with fear and disbelief.
Park Bucheng stepped up to the Intelligence Officer and whispered urgently, "Tell me what 'Ghost Plan' is." The officer's face turned pale with terror; his lips trembled but no words came out. Park Bucheng scoffed coldly and pressed on another pressure point on him while channeling internal energy into him. "You better tell me everything or else..."
The Intelligence Officer stammered out, "'Ghost Plan'... is Chaebol's scheme to use Biochemical Weapons to control Taiji Nation's regime..." A spark lit up in Park Bucheng’s eyes; indeed, Chaebol’s ambitions were far greater than he had imagined. "What role does Kim Tae-wook play?" he pressed further. The officer took a deep breath before struggling to respond: "Kim... Kim Tae-wook is an undercover agent planted by Chaebol within Gangster..." But before he could finish speaking, foam erupted from his mouth as blood poured from his seven orifices; he collapsed dead on the ground.
Park Bucheng’s brow furrowed deeply as murderous intent filled his gaze. Kim Tae-wook! How dare you betray me! Clenching his fists tightly, rage coursed through him—he would make sure Kim Tae-wook paid dearly!
