The battle in the valley had reached a stalemate, with the black-clad figures forming a tight defensive formation that made it difficult for Liang Tian and his companions to break through. However, Liang Tian knew that if they remained trapped here, the situation would only worsen for them.
"Listen up, everyone! Don't attack blindly; conserve your energy. Let's find a way to break out first," Liang Tian shouted as he fended off the counterattacks from the black-clad figures. Upon hearing this, the others adjusted their tactics, refraining from forced attacks and instead looking for weaknesses in the formation.
Liang Tian observed the movements of the black-clad figures and noticed that although their defense was tight, their mobility was relatively slow. An idea struck him, and he exchanged a glance with Xiao Zhan, who immediately understood. The two of them launched a fierce assault on one side of the black-clad formation. Under their powerful offensive, some of the black-clad figures had to divert their strength to defend against them.
At that moment, Liang Tian seized the opportunity and executed his movement technique, darting like a shadow through the less-defended area of the black-clad formation. "Follow me!" he shouted. Seeing this, everyone quickly followed suit. The black-clad figures were caught off guard by Liang Tian's breakthrough and hurriedly turned to pursue.
Leading his companions through the forest, Liang Tian ran for their lives while the black-clad figures relentlessly chased after them. They utilized trees and rocks as cover, constantly changing their routes in an attempt to shake off their pursuers.
"Who are these guys? Why are they so hard to deal with?" Xiao Zhan gasped as he ran. Liang Tian frowned and replied, "I’m not sure either, but their intentions are clear—they're after the Treasure, and they’re not weak; they must have come prepared."
During their escape, Liang Tian skillfully guided everyone through the forest using his keen sense of terrain and tracking techniques learned from his memories of the celestial realm. They climbed steep slopes and traversed narrow valleys, temporarily evading the first wave of pursuit thanks to the complex landscape.
Finally, they reached a concealed cave where Liang Tian halted. "Everyone, let’s rest inside for a moment; they shouldn't be able to catch up for now," he said. The group entered the cave and collapsed onto the ground in exhaustion.
Xiao Zhan took a sip of water to catch his breath and asked, "Brother, what do you think this mysterious force is? Why are they fixated on us?" After pondering for a moment, Liang Tian replied slowly, "Brother Xiao, I suspect this may be a deeply hidden dark force with ulterior motives. They have likely been lurking in the shadows and may have set their sights on the Treasure within the ruins long ago. As soon as we obtained it, they sprang into action."
The Elder of Ling Xiao Sect nodded in agreement from beside them. "Mr. Liang is absolutely right. The behavior of those black-clad figures doesn’t resemble that of an ordinary Hidden Sect. They cover their faces and refuse to reveal their identities; clearly, they don’t want anyone to know about their existence."
Chen Xue looked at Liang Tian with concern and said, "Liang Tian, what should we do? They definitely won’t give up easily." Liang Tian took Chen Xue's hand reassuringly and said, "Don’t worry, Chen Xue. Let’s rest here for a bit and recover our energy. I will find a way to deal with them. Thus, Liang Tian arranged for The Phantom Thief of a Thousand Faces, Li San, to go out and gather intelligence while the others continued to rest and train in the cave. Utilizing his exceptional stealth skills, Li San quietly left the cave and vanished into the forest. Meanwhile, Liang Tian and the others waited in the cave for news from Li San, as a confrontation with the mysterious forces quietly began to unfold...
