Under the leadership of Liang Tian, the group suppressed their inner unease and searched through the eerie illusion. They cautiously navigated every corner of the temple, leaving no potential clue unchecked. Every subtle sound and seemingly ordinary place was meticulously examined.
“Look, the fluctuations of spiritual energy around here seem to be converging in one direction,” a disciple from Lingxiao Sect suddenly said, pointing towards the back courtyard of the temple. Upon hearing this, everyone immediately rushed in that direction.
When they arrived at the courtyard, an ancient well came into view. Thick black mist enveloped the well, swirling and undulating as if it were alive. Moreover, they could distinctly feel that the power of the entire illusion was concentrated on this well; the black mist continuously rising from it was the source maintaining the illusion.
Liang Tian furrowed his brow, staring at the well in contemplation for a moment before resolutely stating, “I’ve decided to take the risk and enter the well to investigate. Only by finding the root can we break this illusion.”
Chen Xue’s heart filled with worry upon hearing this; she hurriedly grabbed Liang Tian’s hand and said, “Liang Tian, it’s too dangerous! This well seems strange, and no one knows what’s inside.”
Xiao Zhan then patted Liang Tian on the shoulder and said boldly, “Brother, I’ll go with you. How can I let you face such danger alone?” The other experts from different sects also expressed their willingness to join in order to protect Liang Tian.
Seeing the determined expressions on their faces filled Liang Tian with warmth. He knew that this mission was fraught with danger, but with these like-minded companions by his side, he felt confident. “Alright, since everyone is willing to join me, let’s move forward together. But everyone must be cautious; we don’t know what dangers lie within this well.”
Everyone nodded in agreement and gathered around the well. Liang Tian stepped up to the edge first, channeling his spiritual energy in an attempt to disperse the black mist at the opening. However, the mist proved stubborn and only thinned slightly.
“It seems we have no choice but to go down directly,” Liang Tian said as he leaped into the well. Xiao Zhan and the other experts followed closely behind, jumping into the well one after another. Although Chen Xue was worried, she knew she couldn’t help much and could only anxiously wait at the edge.
As they fell, the surrounding black mist thickened even more, nearly obscuring their vision entirely. Liang Tian activated his Treasure, causing it to emit Multicolored Radiance that illuminated their surroundings. With the light from the Treasure, they saw that the inner walls of the well were covered in various strange runes that flickered with a faint glow, seemingly resonating with the black mist.
“These runes must be related to the illusion,” Liang Tian remarked while carefully observing their arrangement and style. Just then, a chilling howl suddenly echoed from below as a powerful suction force emanated from the bottom of the well, causing their bodies to accelerate uncontrollably downward.
“Everyone hold steady!” Liang Tian shouted loudly while exerting his powerful spiritual energy in an attempt to resist this suction force. The other experts also unleashed their own Spells; in an instant, light flashed and spiritual energy surged around them.
Finally, as the group descended closer to the bottom of the well, they managed to stabilize their positions. They slowly landed in a spacious area, where they discovered a massive Black Magic Circle at the center. The array was inscribed with runes similar to those on the walls of the well, and black mist continuously poured forth from the formation.
"It seems this is the core of the illusion," Xiao Zhan remarked as he gazed at the array. Liang Tian nodded and cautiously approached the formation. As he drew near, the array suddenly emitted a blinding light, revealing a vague figure within its glow.
"Intruders, you should not have entered here," the Vague Figure spoke in a chilling voice, filled with warning. Unfazed, Liang Tian replied resolutely, "We are here to break this illusion and thwart the Dark Organization's scheme. What exactly are you, and why have you created this bizarre illusion?" The Vague Figure did not respond to Liang Tian's question but instead launched an attack, and an intense battle was about to unfold at the bottom of this ancient well…
