As the atmosphere grew increasingly intimate, the two of them exchanged words, sharing their dreams for a future home. They spoke of weekends spent cuddling on the couch, binge-watching shows and snacking, or of traveling hand in hand to distant places during their annual vacations. As they chatted, drowsiness washed over them. Lu Zean turned to embrace Lin Xiao Yu, resting his chin gently on the top of her head. Lin Xiao Yu nestled comfortably in his arms, both of them filled with boundless hopes for the future, wrapped in a sense of sweetness and security.
Outside, the moonlight deepened, and the large red wedding candles inside burned lower, their flickering shadows creating an increasingly tranquil and ambiguous atmosphere. Lu Zean and Lin Xiao Yu lay entwined on the bed, initially whispering softly as they enjoyed those hidden dreams they had never voiced aloud. They imagined cooking together during leisurely times, infusing their meals with warmth and flavor through the seasons; or planning trips for their upcoming anniversaries, sketching out a future filled with sweetness.
Gradually, warm breaths began to circulate between them, their heartbeats quickening as if they might shatter the stillness of the night. Lu Zean tightened his embrace around Lin Xiao Yu, his gaze filled with intense affection. He softly called her name, his voice slightly hoarse. Lin Xiao Yu looked up and met his burning gaze, her cheeks flushing as she shyly buried her face into his chest.
The surroundings were quiet, only their increasingly heavy breaths intertwining. Lu Zean leaned closer, planting feather-light kisses from her forehead down to her eyes and beyond, each touch imbued with endless tenderness and love. Lin Xiao Yu trembled slightly, instinctively clutching at his shirt. They were lost in a moment that belonged solely to them, as their budding feelings spread like wildfire, threatening to fill the space around them with an abundance of love. Once their passion subsided, they held each other tighter, enveloped in the unique comfort and satisfaction of their wedding night, drifting into a deep sleep as they prepared to embark on a lifetime together.
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window and gently illuminated the bed. Lin Xiao Yu slowly woke up; as soon as she moved, she couldn't help but let out a small groan—her body ached all over, especially her waist and legs, as if they had been struck by a heavy hammer. Frowning in discomfort, she turned to see Lu Zean still peacefully asleep beside her. Frustration bubbled up inside her as she reached out to nudge him.
"It's all your fault!" Lin Xiao Yu scolded him softly, her voice still laced with sleepiness and discontent. "You were too rough last night! Now I’m sore all over; even turning over is a struggle."
Lu Zean jolted awake instantly, bleary-eyed as he looked at Lin Xiao Yu's pained expression. Realizing her distress made him feel guilty immediately; he quickly pulled her into his arms and spoke soothingly: "It's my fault; I’m so sorry! Just lie back down for a bit longer; let me help you." With that, his hands found their way to her sore waist and began to knead gently.
Lin Xiao Yu let out a couple of soft sounds of protest as she snuggled deeper into him and murmured: "Just rubbing isn’t enough! You have to cater to me all day today—I want water and food brought to me!"
Lu Zean nodded eagerly, resting his chin on top of her head as he replied warmly: "Alright then, my dear wife! I promise I’ll be at your beck and call today; you’re the boss around here."
Outside, birds chirped cheerfully while inside these two were even more affectionate than on their wedding night—playful banter filled the air as they embarked on a brand new sweet day together after marriage.
