Yun Wan'er was driving an electric car, which was quite convenient in the city, but when it came to long distances, finding a charging station was just as challenging as hunting for a parking spot.
Last night, she had checked that Shi Ye was currently in Sanya. If he drove there, it would take him at least two days! No way, she thought. A beautiful woman like her shouldn't have to take a taxi alone; it was better for him to drive back while she took a cab.
Shi Tian wasn't going to drive, and Yun Wan'er had anticipated that. The rule was clear: no drinking and driving. Since Shi Tian would be attending a gathering, it was only natural that he would have a couple of drinks.
"Then I'll head back to the office. You enjoy yourself!" With that, Yun Wan'er drove off.
The division of labor between Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er was quite clear: Yun Wan'er handled the politics while Shi Chui took care of the supplies and customs. Although Shi Chui often went fishing, it depended on who he was fishing with.
As she watched Yun Wan'er leave, Shi Tian hurriedly hailed a cab to the high-speed rail station. It was already close to ten o'clock; if he wanted to reach Sanya before dark, he needed to catch his train on time.
When night fell, Yun Wan'er would definitely call to urge him back. If he could make it to Sanya and catch up with Shi Ye, then Yun Wan'er would just have to accept whatever happened next!
He switched from the ride-hailing service to the high-speed rail, then from the high-speed rail to a plane. He rushed and made it onto the aircraft just before they closed the cabin doors.
Taking out his phone, he double-checked Shi Ye's social media updates; the guy had just posted something new.
Shi Chui was out fishing, and so was Shi Ye. Compared to Shi Chui's Air Force catch, Shi Ye's haul looked promising. A large fish was held high by Shi Ye, splashing seawater into the air. The timing of this photo capture was perfect; it seemed that Shi Ye was fishing with a group that included a skilled photographer.
Fortunately, Shi Ye's location still showed Sanya, so there were no issues there. This guy was unpredictable—today in Sanya, tomorrow who knew where he'd be!
This fish looked quite ugly; could it even be eaten? He casually replied to the post while contemplating whether to call Shi Ye now or wait until he reached Sanya.
If he called Shi Ye now, he could guarantee that before the plane took off, Yun Wan'er would call him first. But if he waited until reaching Sanya to call Shi Ye, who knew where Shi Ye might wander off to? If he ended up far from the airport again, he'd be in trouble!
Shi Tian didn’t necessarily have to rely on Shi Ye; even if Shi Ye wasn’t in Sanya, with his phone funds, he could enjoy himself there for a month or two.
Just as he was mulling over this dilemma, Shi Ye’s call came through.
"Young Emperor! You graduated? Want to come play in Sanya?"
Shi Ye and Shi Tian had a good relationship; Shi Chui was ten years older than Shi Ye, who in turn was ten years older than Shi Tian.
Shi Tian had grown up following behind Shi Ye during his childhood; they saw each other less frequently once Shi Ye entered high school.
"Sure! Leave the fish for me; I’ll be there for a welcome party!" Just when he was worried about how to explain things to Yun Wan'er, Shi Ye had conveniently reached out first.
Earlier, when he bought the plane ticket, he had checked the flight schedule and found that it would land at ten o'clock at night. However, to make Shi Ye take the blame, he decided to delay his arrival at the airport by two hours, creating a scenario where he would only decide on Sanya after receiving a phone call.
Shi Tian's straightforward response left Shi Ye somewhat stunned. He had tried to flirt with Shi Tian numerous times before, but Shi Tian was like a homebody; he rarely ventured out unless the family went on a trip or there was no one to cook at home.
"Are you really coming?" Shi Ye questioned, doubting whether he had heard correctly. It was fine for Shi Tian to spend a few days in Sanya, but could he really enjoy himself while taking care of such a big Nephew?
"What do you mean by that, Brother Ye? Is our relationship worth less than a fish? So you were just being polite?" Shi Tian shot back.
There was no way Shi Tian would let Shi Ye take back his words. After all, it was hard to find someone to take the blame, and he couldn't let this opportunity slip away easily.
"Get lost! If you're coming over, let me know in advance. I won't let you eat so much fish that you throw up!" After scolding him, Shi Ye quickly added, "Enough of this. I'm fishing right now. If you decide to come to Sanya, tell me, and I'll book your ticket!"
After hanging up the phone, Shi Ye chuckled to himself, "Coming to Sanya? Dream on! Let's see if you can get past Yun Wan'er first!"
He was well aware of Yun Wan'er's travel plans; many of her strategies were ones he had advised her on.
After graduating, Yun Wan'er had brought him into the company and arranged for him to have a small position, allowing a few people to mentor him for two years. Then she could enjoy her time with Shi Chui without any worries.
For this trip, Yun Wan'er had been preparing for one or two years. Besides the gear that Shi Tian had seen, Shi Chui even bought a car specifically for traveling, which would be delivered in less than half a month.
