With a flick of the fishing rod, Shi Ye suddenly felt something was off! When Shi Tian came out to play, Yun Wan'er would definitely try to stop him. But if Shi Tian came looking for him, Yun Wan'er might not intervene.
Having those people from the office take care of Shi Tian was far less reassuring than if Shi Ye were to do it himself. Previously, Yun Wan'er had mentioned that once Shi Tian graduated, she wanted him to hang out with Shi Ye for a couple of years, but Shi Ye had outright refused at that time.
Shi Ye was wild by nature; he was the kind of person who would eat well and leave his family hungry, going wherever he pleased without a care in the world. If Shi Tian came looking for him, could he still enjoy such freedom?
No way! He couldn't stay in Sanya any longer; he needed to leave quickly! It would be best to go to a country where getting a visa was more complicated and stay there for a while. Only after Yun Wan'er arranged for Shi Tian to settle in could he return!
He glanced at the time; it was unlikely that Shi Tian would come now. Even if he wanted to come, there were no flights left from home to the airport at this hour! He planned to leave early tomorrow morning and send two fish to Shi Tian later, finding an excuse to make sure Shi Tian wouldn’t think about coming to Sanya.
"Hey kid, is this your first time on a plane? You can't use your phone on board. It takes over three hours to fly from here to Sanya, so turn off your phone and read more!" A nearby Elder with Celestial Aura handed him a book.
Looking up, Shi Tian noticed that the plane had already pushed back from the gate and was slowly taxiing down the runway. The flight attendants were demonstrating how to use seatbelts and explaining safety precautions.
Embarrassed, he turned off his phone and took the book from the old man with a thank you, flipping through it seriously.
At first glance, Shi Tian was stunned; turning over the cover revealed "Yang Zhai San Yao," a book about Feng Shui—specifically about Yang House Feng Shui.
What could this book do? Help people assess properties? Arrange Feng Shui? Did he have some hidden talent for being a con artist? The old man didn’t seem like someone who would set up shop at Yuan Men Kou selling trinkets! Why did he give him this book?
Still, Shi Tian was quite curious about these mysterious topics. Xun Long said that each layer of entanglement represented a barrier. If he learned this stuff, could he follow in Hu Ba Yi's footsteps and become a tomb raider? But this was about Yang House; he wondered if the old man had anything for Yin houses in his bag!
The book looked quite old and was written in classical Chinese. However, for someone like Shi Tian who had received higher education, it was still somewhat understandable.
"The three essentials are door, master, and stove." The text stated simply. The door is the path of entry; the master is where one resides; the stove is where food is prepared.
Well then, that summed up the main idea of this book in one sentence: assessing a house revolves around these three things—the main entrance, the master bedroom, and the kitchen.
"Master, when assessing Feng Shui, do we look at the unit door or the entrance door?" After reading the first line, Shi Tian asked somewhat confusedly.
"Yang Zhai San Yao" was compiled by Zhao Jiufeng during the Great Qing period when there wasn't even such a concept as unit doors; therefore, it certainly wouldn’t be mentioned in this book.
Bored and with nothing to do, Shi Tian thought it better to chat with the old man than to waste three hours sleeping. Who knows, if things got tough, he might even set up a stall at Yuan Men Kou someday.
When Shi Tian posed his question, the old man was momentarily taken aback. When it came to selecting a building, one should take the main entrance of the community as the reference point. For choosing an apartment, the unit door was key. If one were to assess the feng shui of a specific household, it would primarily focus on the front door, and for examining the feng shui of a particular room, one would look at the room door.
Both Shi Tian and the old man were equally bored; otherwise, he wouldn’t be studying a cookbook in his hands. When Shi Tian sought advice, the old man began to speak at length.
For villas or courtyards, the main gate still took precedence. In feng shui assessments, everything revolved around the main entrance. The subsequent elevations were determined based on the master bedroom's orientation to ascertain whether the residence was auspicious or not!
After finishing his explanation, Shi Tian continued flipping through the book. Whenever he encountered something he didn’t understand, he would ask questions. Remarkably, they managed to finish all four volumes of Yang Zhai San Yao in just over three hours.
Shi Tian felt a bit puzzled. Was it really destined for him to pursue this line of work? He had read through four volumes of classical Chinese text in three hours and could even recall much of it, some passages he could recite from memory.
This was impressive; if he could truly grasp this knowledge, he wouldn't have to worry about food and clothing in his later years.
When the plane landed, he exchanged phone numbers with the old man and prepared to call Shi Ye. It was already past ten o'clock at night. After checking Shi Ye's location, Shi Tian realized it was still forty miles away; driving there would take over half an hour.
That wasn’t even the main concern—what if Shi Ye had plans that night? If he got carried away drinking or ended up having fun with some girl, and Shi Tian couldn’t reach him by phone, he might end up sleeping on the streets!
Initially, Shi Tian thought his family was well-off, but after buying the plane ticket, he was shocked; that same-day ticket had taken a third of his savings! Even now, he felt a pang in his wallet!
In Sanya, prices were high and accommodations expensive. If he didn’t rely on Shi Ye and bought a return ticket as well, he wouldn’t last a month here before starving!
“Hey, Ye Ge! Hurry up and come pick me up; I’ve just arrived at Sanya Airport!” As soon as the call connected, Shi Tian got straight to the point.
