As he watched the number of people in the group rapidly increase, the silence that had lingered for days finally broke.
"Group Owner, your Fish Hook isn't very useful!" Chang Guadi exclaimed.
Shi Tian hadn't expected to receive feedback after giving away hundreds of Fish Hooks, and certainly not negative feedback. This caught him off guard.
"What's wrong with it? Please describe in detail so we can make improvements!" Shi Tian replied.
When someone criticized the Fish Hook in the group, it could have significant repercussions. If people abandoned his Fish Hook based on this feedback, how would he earn Points?
"The leader line is too sturdy; even when the main line snapped, the leader line held up just fine, causing me to lose a whole Abo!" Chang Guadi continued.
With this comment, several lurkers quickly chimed in, indicating that many had been let down by the leader line of their Fish Float.
While a sturdy leader line is generally a good thing, if it's stronger than the main line, it becomes problematic. The purpose of using a leader line is twofold: to make it easier for fish to bite and to serve as insurance; if it gets snagged, it should ideally protect the Fish Float and Lead Weight, sacrificing only the Hook at most.
Hearing this, Shi Tian could only smile wryly.
"To increase the strength and resilience of the leader line, we used supercritical polymer fiber materials. This results in a strength that is three to four times that of ordinary leader lines. For the safety of the main line, you can choose a thicker main line or switch to one made from our materials. I’ve opened a Fishing Tackle Shop in Anyou Town that will be opening in a few days. You can come by then; I’ll give you a free Line Setup!"
A Line Setup doesn’t cost much, and if it helps attract customers to his shop, he can afford to give away a few.
According to Chang Guadi's comments, having an overly sturdy leader line wasn't a flaw; no fisherman would change their leader line just because it was too strong.
When Shi Tian mentioned the opportunity to get a free Line Setup, even more people began to join the conversation.
"Is Xing Xing Fishing Tackle Shop at the southernmost part of Anyou Town yours? I passed by there a few days ago and saw people renovating. Why hasn’t it opened yet?" Chang Guadi asked.
With better and sturdier fishing lines available, many fishermen were getting restless. They might not care about the cost of a Line Setup, but they certainly wanted peace of mind when reeling in a Giant Fish without worrying about snapped lines!
"It should be ready in two days! We’re still waiting on some supplies. Once everything is in place, we’ll open up. Don’t forget to come support us!" Shi Tian replied.
Giving away two hundred sets of Fish Hooks each day meant that over two days he would have given away four hundred sets. With today’s distribution added to those already given out, he should have enough Points accumulated to create some Samples for display. However, stocking up would take more time and effort!
The Fishing Tackle Shop was definitely set to open soon; Shi Ye had mentioned that they needed to get it running before they left town so they could support Shi Tian.
Since Shi Ye had said as much, Shi Tian could only nod in agreement. He didn’t need to worry about stocking bait; Shi Ye had already arranged that and would deliver it tomorrow.
As for fishing gear, Shi Tian would only sell Xing Brand products. There was no need to find other suppliers; while his selection might be limited, the cost-effectiveness and performance were excellent—once someone tried them out, they wouldn’t want anything else.
Shi Ye wanted to help him solve the issue, but Shi Tian refused. As long as it had anything to do with fish, most items could be crafted in the Fishing Box, even tents and shovels. There was no need for him to sell ordinary goods anymore, as their sales were minimal and he couldn't even sell one or two sets.
After two days of warmth, the materials Shi Tian ordered finally arrived. He hurried home and immediately set about crafting the custom Fishing Rods for the four of them. The others took good care of Shi Tian; Lu Ya helped him with renovations, Air Force assisted him in obtaining permits, and even arranged for a Yacht License. Although the old man never mentioned it, Shi Ye had hinted that he had made arrangements regarding the Trademark issue, which would be resolved in a couple of days, surprising Shi Tian.
Having repaid the favors owed to the four of them, Shi Tian glanced at his remaining Points, which had dropped below twenty thousand. This forced him to revise his inventory list once more. The Fishing Tackle Shop was set to open tomorrow, and everything was prepared; he just needed to restock.
He decided not to stock the two-meter and two-point-seven-meter rods for now but prepared two sets each of the three-point-six-meter and four-point-five-meter rods. He also stocked two sets of the eight-meter rod, totaling eight hundred Points. The Mi Si sold better at seven-point-two meters, so he prepared four sets, adding another two thousand four hundred Points.
The shore fishing gear, Lures, and Sea Rods were essential items. The Points required for Rods weren't too high; various models were comparable to those of Hand Rods. However, Wheels were expensive—ordinary ones cost two to three hundred Points, while those used for deep-sea fishing started at over a thousand. Electric Reels began at two thousand and only got pricier with size.
Lures and Iso Rods could be stocked in larger quantities, but for valuable items meant for sea fishing, Shi Tian felt powerless; buying a few Wheels would wipe out his Points entirely! Line Setup, Fish Floats, and Jigs were inexpensive; Lure Jigs didn't cost any Points at all, which excited Shi Tian.
In addition to these items, he needed to get two sets of Fishing Boxes and Fishing Platforms. While he could temporarily forgo Samples, he couldn't be without them! Yu Hu, Ping Nets, and Fishing Buckets also needed several sets in both large and small sizes. Eventually, his Points dwindled down to three digits, forcing Shi Tian to stop.
Looking at the pile of items stacked high in his room, Shi Tian smacked his lips; the hard work was about to officially begin. The Mini Cooper was small; transporting all these items to the shop would likely require several trips. He decisively borrowed a vehicle from Shi Ye and took out his Dai Yue Ye, folding down the back seats. Even if one trip wasn't enough, two should suffice.
He had already labeled the shelves in the shop; once these items arrived, he could simply arrange them according to the Labels. After working tirelessly into the late hours of the night, the Fishing Tackle Shop finally began to take shape.
