The fishermen must be out of their minds; why not fish for these little fish instead? You can catch several in just an hour! If you want a good feel, just buy a noodle rod; it's not expensive! A three-tael carp can give you the sensation of pulling out a two-jin carp—how enticing is that!
Casting the rod and reeling it in with ease! The whole motion flows like water, and Shi Tian has mastered it to perfection.
Getting hooked on catching Bai Tiao is also addictive. After two hours, Shi Tian pulled out a Yu Hu and took a look—goodness, a Bai Tiao the size of a palm, along with Carp and Pahdi Hu, weighed about three to four jin altogether. That feeling is even more thrilling than catching Shi Ban!
Checking the time, oh no, it's already past ten! Su Xueyi must be off work by now! Quickly pulling out his phone, he found Su Xueyi's number and dialed.
"Hey! Xiaoxue, you’re off work now, right? I still need half an hour to get back. Can you lock up the shop? I was just planning to cast a few lines, but it turned out I couldn't stop!"
"Nope! I'm still at the shop! It's fine if I stay a bit longer; I can keep an eye on things!" Hearing that Shi Tian still needed half an hour to return, Su Xueyi smiled slightly; the boss must be fishing again!
Su Xueyi was willing to work overtime, which was exactly what Shi Tian wanted. "Alright then, I'll bring you something to eat when I get back. Don't order takeout! After work, I'll drive you home; it's not safe for you to go back alone so late!"
After hanging up, Shi Tian hurriedly packed up his things and made sure to take a photo of the catch in the Yu Hu before dumping everything back into the river, planning to come back later to build up his points.
Having been away from Beijing for so long, Shi Tian finally experienced rush hour again. A journey that usually takes twenty to thirty minutes took nearly an hour before he returned to Anyou Town!
He stopped by the market to buy a roast duck and some cold noodles. There wasn't enough time to cook rice, so he grabbed a few buns instead!
By the time he got back to the shop, it was already dark. Su Xueyi was behind the counter reading while Sun Lang was still on duty across from her.
"Haven't eaten yet? Come on, it's time for dinner! The traffic was crawling like a turtle; it nearly drove me crazy!" Shi Tian explained as he set down his things on the counter.
"Boss, that's just how it is in the city; rush hours are always congested. Yesterday I sat on the bus for over half an hour because of traffic!" Su Xueyi smiled slightly as she put down her book. "You go wash your hands first; I'll arrange these things!"
After washing his hands upstairs, Shi Tian grabbed two plates and came back down. He glanced at Sun Lang across the way and asked, "Why is it so quiet over there? Is no one fishing?"
This morning Old Zhang and Sun Lang were fishing; he hadn't seen Shui Bi Zhang or Shui Laoban around. It seemed Shui Laoban hadn't sunk so low as to be beyond saving yet.
Uncle Zhang had fished all day but had just left with Aunt Zhang for dinner. Sun Lang had been sitting there fishing all day and had even ordered takeout for his meal!
Speaking of which, Su Xueyi chuckled and said, "I heard from Sun Lang that Shui Laoban is hosting a fish-watching event at home and invited quite a few bosses to see that Mouse Grouper he caught yesterday!"
Upon hearing this, Shi Tian nearly spat out his drink in shock!
Cough, cough, cough! It seems that this Shui Laoban is truly beyond saving! With his style, how did he even become a boss? But then again, he is a man of action; he can turn fishing into a grand event, hosting a fish-watching conference under this title. That's certainly better than being overly cautious! Despite the absurdity of such gatherings, they provide a great opportunity to connect with business partners. Even if he just closes one deal, it would be enough for him to fish for an entire year!
After dinner, Su Xueyi eagerly started cleaning up, and Shi Tian was happy to take it easy, wandering over to check on Sun Lang. "How's it going? Any luck today?" He handed Sun Lang a cigarette and lifted the Fish Bucket to take a look. Inside were three or four Black Sea Bream and one Shi Ban—quite a decent haul.
Having not seen Sun Lang for a day made him feel like he had upgraded his gear; he now had a Fishing Box and an umbrella, looking quite the part! A few Black Sea Bream and Shi Ban weren’t big catches, but Old Zhang had done well, landing a forty-centimeter Sea Wolf! Lighting up a cigarette, Sun Lang replied and prepared to reel in his line.
"Alright, take your time packing up! I need to drop Su Xueyi off, so I won't keep you company here!" After chatting for a bit, Shi Tian returned to the shop.
Su Xueyi had already finished tidying up; the counter was clean and the dishes washed and put away. She turned off the air conditioning and lights, ensuring that the air pump kept running—if it stopped, the shrimp would spoil by tomorrow! Once everything was sorted out, Shi Tian locked up the shop and headed towards the city under Su Xueyi's guidance.
After dropping Su Xueyi off, he rushed back to the villa and it was nearly ten o'clock. After washing up, he snuggled into bed to check his accumulated points. The warmth he provided immediately showed its effects.
He had personally caught over a dozen Xiao Yu today. After calculating two points per catch and subtracting the previous warm-up income of over a thousand points, he found that the remaining thousand points were indeed from today's warmth provision.
The effect was surprisingly good! Wait, there was also Old Gao, the Advanced Tool User; he must have sold quite a few Hooks on his end as well. Otherwise, there wouldn't be so many points. It seemed Old Gao still had some tricks up his sleeve!
He decided to prepare a set of Pin Gou for Old Gao and stock up on fishing lines. If Old Gao continued to perform well for another week, Shi Tian would nearly resolve his point crisis!
The extra thousand points gained today likely included contributions from Old Gao's sales—at least three to five points worth. If this trend continued for another week, Old Gao could become self-sufficient.
As for what would happen after that week? Well, that would be pure profit. With Hooks becoming more popular, point income would only increase!
He would give Old Gao a week to see if he could sell a thousand sets of Hooks. If so, he could promote them throughout Sanya. Having someone like Old Gao help promote Hooks was an opportunity he couldn't pass up!
Old Gao made money while Shi Tian earned points; it was truly a win-win situation. Once ten thousand sets of Hooks were promoted successfully, Shi Tian could consider letting Old Gao sell Rods as well. However, they couldn't rush into that just yet; Rods were too costly—tens of thousands wouldn’t even cover Sanya’s inventory needs!
