Shi Tian had been eagerly anticipating the Sea Fishing Rod, and it was finally out of gray mode—he could make it now! The last time he went to Nan You with the Air Force, he had tried out the Sea Fishing Rod. Although he couldn't tell what made this rod different, he knew that dragging a thirty-pound Tuna was no easy feat, and an ordinary rod certainly wouldn't have the strength for it.
Opening the Sea Fishing Rod menu, he saw the ratings of 1467. This indicated the rod's strength—the higher the number, the sturdier the rod. A 67-rated Fishing Rod could handle a two or three-pound Tuna without any issues! However, when he glanced at the price, Shi Tian felt a shiver run down his spine. He knew the Sea Fishing Rod was expensive, but he hadn't expected it to be this costly!
The rod itself was somewhat reasonable; based on its hardness, it ranged from one thousand to seven thousand credits. Even if he folded it in half, it would only cost a little over three thousand credits. But the wheel was four times that price, and it wasn't even an Electric Reel. If it were an Electric Reel, the price would double again, which was quite terrifying!
The rod and wheel were expensive, and the line wasn’t cheap either—three credits for a meter of line meant that a thousand meters would cost a thousand credits. Even if he folded it in half, a complete set of line would still set him back several hundred credits. It seemed that selling the Sea Fishing Rod wouldn't include free line anymore!
Besides these items, there were other accessories priced from several hundred to over a thousand credits each, all reflecting an extravagant cost! After much deliberation, Shi Tian finally gritted his teeth and crafted a complete set, which left nearly a third of his Fishing Box balance gone in an instant.
He still remembered how difficult it had been to reel in that thirty-pound Tuna last time; he could only imagine how challenging it would be with something heavier. Although the Electric Reel was twice as expensive, he ultimately chose it without hesitation!
Now he understood why Wan Ji hadn’t activated the Sea Fishing Rod; if he opted for all high-end gear, Wan Ji wouldn’t even have enough to craft one set of the Sea Fishing Rod—what was the point of struggling?
Holding his new Sea Fishing Rod in hand, Shi Tian looked up through the night towards the sea. He hadn’t checked out the Mini Air Force that Air Force had left him; perhaps he should take it out for a spin one day?
Going out to sea alone? Shi Tian wasn't foolish enough to do that! He needed to find someone reliable to go with him—preferably someone experienced who could operate a boat!
He did have a license, but it was theoretical; it didn’t indicate where there were reefs or currents! He wasn’t interested in risking his life before even starting his fishing adventures!
With no early morning obligations ahead, Shi Tian finally had the chance to sleep in. Sun Lang was responsible for the early shift while Su Xueyi took care of things during the day. First things first—he needed to catch up on some much-needed rest!
With plenty of credits at hand, he felt secure! With tens of thousands of credits saved up, he wouldn’t need to worry about sending warmth anymore!
After sleeping until nine o'clock, he took a stroll around the mountain. The spring water flow was quite impressive! However, from the mountain down to the villa area had been turned into a construction site—it was quite an eyesore!
Not rushing to head to the store just yet, he decided to check out the Small Pier first since he hadn’t seen his Mini Air Force yet. It would be good to familiarize himself with it for future outings at sea!
Finding the keys for Mini Air Force at home, he drove over to the dock and saw a small white yacht quietly moored there.
Shi Tian finally understood why Air Force had registered this boat as Mini Air Force; it was essentially a mini version of Air Force—only this one had an open deck while everything else remained identical.
At eleven meters long and about four meters wide, it was undeniably charming!
Jumping onto the boat and entering the cockpit, he powered it on and checked—the fuel tank was full! Shi Tian finally felt relieved! Both boats designed by Air Force were modeled after yachts but had been slightly modified during construction to create a fishing area at the back.
Shi Tian knew that yachts might look impressive, but they certainly consumed fuel without hesitation. Why was it that no one used yachts in Global? Was it because they were expensive? No, it was because they couldn't afford the fuel!
Just because someone could buy a yacht didn't mean they could afford to operate one in Global. Take the Mini Air Force, for instance—a vessel about ten meters long with a fuel tank of over a thousand liters. Filling it up cost more than ten thousand dollars!
If it were the Air Force, there would be no question; even if Air Force left it behind, he couldn't afford to run it. Selling his Electric Mini wouldn't even fill the tank once, and such a large boat required at least four people to operate according to regulations!
After messing around on the boat for half a day, the fuel tank was full, but the water tank was empty, the ice was gone, and there was no food. To set sail, some supplies were necessary; getting everything would easily cost over a thousand or eight hundred dollars!
Reluctantly leaving the boat, Shi Tian checked the time and decided to drive to the store. If he hurried, he might still make it for lunch!
Reality often proved to be quite stark compared to ideals. Upon arriving at the store, he saw Sun Lang and Su Xueyi already eating. The two of them were feeding each other dumplings, which made Shi Tian feel a bit envious!
"Sun Lang, can you drive a boat?" Shi Tian casually asked while grabbing a dumpling from the plate.
Aren't soldiers supposed to be versatile? They can drive boats, fly planes, and even operate tanks!
Sun Lang rolled his eyes at Shi Tian and quickly shoved the last dumpling from the plate into Su Xueyi's mouth.
"Driving a boat? That's way easier than driving a car! Anyone with long arms can do it!"
Hearing this from Sun Lang made Shi Tian's eyes light up—he was right! Soldiers could do anything!
"Do you have a boating license? If you do, take me out fishing for big fish sometime! We could go to Nan You and catch tuna! I already bought rods; it'd be such a waste not to use them!"
Upon hearing Shi Tian's words, Sun Lang shook his head decisively. "Nope! Who needs that stuff? The places we go don’t require any licenses!"
Shi Tian felt frustrated by Sun Lang's response. No license? What kind of nonsense was that? And he said it so confidently!
While Sun Lang might not be reliable, he could still bring him along—after all, someone had to handle the fish when they caught them. With his strength, he could haul in even the biggest catch!
Shaking his head, Shi Tian realized that getting out to sea wasn't going to be easy after all. He decided to check in with some people from his group later and see if anyone had reliable connections.
"This dumpling is terrible! Where did you buy these?" Shi Tian remarked sourly as he watched Su Xueyi happily swallow her dumpling.
Across from him was a new Dumpling House that had opened yesterday. However, these dumplings were definitely lacking in quality; if they didn’t improve soon, that place wouldn’t last three months! Sun Lang seemed to agree with Shi Tian’s assessment and replied straightforwardly.
"I'll go give them some feedback later. It's not easy to open a Dumpling House here; we can't let them go under! Otherwise, it'll be hard to find good dumplings again!"
Shi Tian actually had several recipes for dumpling fillings; he recalled being surprised that one of the recipes in his Shandong Cuisine collection included dumpling filling—it wasn’t exactly gourmet fare!
Suddenly remembering that he had a cheap master who might know something about this, he thought about calling him. Of course, there was also the chance that he was a fraud or worse—who knew if he was still alive?
No matter what, he decided to make a call and test the waters; after all, since those recipes came from him, it would only be polite to inform his cheap master before giving them away!
