"Isn't that under your feet? You've already stomped it into the mud!"
Shi Tian, in the time it took to say that, saw Wang Ergou loosen his grip, and Yu Jing was dragged into the net by a lobster, quickly pulled to the shore in just a few steps.
"Fish are in the net," Wang Ergou said. Regardless of whether they had any bites at noon, neither of them was in the mood to chat. They attached Snail bait and cast their lines into the water. Under the blazing sun, they sat quietly on the Fishing Platform, completely still.
After battling Xiao Yu for a long time, Shi Tian had lost his temper. He reeled in his Rod and stood up between the two of them, saying, "Alright, let's go check on the shop! No one's there today!"
Sun Lang had gone; sooner or later, no one would be watching the shop. Shi Tian felt a bit uneasy. The shop had been open for quite some time now; in the mornings, many people would come to buy Fish Bait and replenish some supplies. If no one was there to watch it in the early morning and late evening, he feared that Dao Wan and his group of Fishing Buddies would wreck it!
After fishing all day, they only brought back a few small fish? He had told them to set up on the Fishing Platform for Big Fish, but they didn't listen. "How about I lend you this fish for a photo?" After snapping a picture of Yu Hu, Wang Ergou smugly said.
Shi Tian shot him an annoyed glance and muttered, "And you think that's something to brag about? Next week we're going out to catch Tuna! Any one of them would look better than what you have!"
Shi Tian had been thinking about making another round; those Tuna weren't big, but catching just one would give him plenty to boast about for a long time!
Going out to sea? It was currently a holiday; they couldn't rent a boat! You might as well wait until after the holiday! Hearing Shi Tian mention going after Tuna, Wang Ergou chuckled with schadenfreude.
With both Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day creating an eight-day holiday, it was a rare long break. Many fishermen were looking forward to taking advantage of this holiday to go out to sea. By now, all those Fishing Boats had already been rented out; once they went out, they wouldn't return until after seven days when the holiday ended.
So what if it was a holiday? I have my own boat; I can go out whenever I want without needing to rent one! Finally getting a chance to boast himself, Shi Tian raised his nose and snorted, "Alright then, when I catch Tuna, I'll treat you all to a feast. You can keep playing with Snail here!"
Upon hearing that Shi Tian had a boat, Wang Ergou turned to look at him and grinned widely. "Need help with netting fish? It's free; I'll bring my own food. If you need anything, just message me directly!"
Who wants to play around in this pond when they can go out fishing at sea? They had planned to go Sea Fishing for quite some time now; it was hard to come by such a long holiday where everything was arranged perfectly—only to find there were no boats available. That's why they were stuck here continuing with Snail!
"Really? If you go, remember to save me a spot! I'll cover Fuel Costs! I'll bring my own Fishing Spot!" The lobster beside Shi Tian also overheard and immediately turned around to ask.
"What are you two doing messing around at sea with Taiwanese Fishing? You’ll end up breaking your rods!" Their conversation piqued Shi Tian's interest. They had their own Fishing Spots? These guys must be seasoned veterans! If he teamed up with them along with Scallions and Ginger for a few days at sea, that could be quite enjoyable!
Scallions and Ginger were definitely experienced; that much was certain. Whether it was driving a boat or fishing skills, they were top-notch and knew how to find good Fishing Spots!
These two were professional-level Taiwanese Fishing experts; however, their skills at sea remained uncertain. But since they could bring their own Fishing Spots, they must have gone out often enough. With three veterans plus him as a novice working together, going out should pose no problem at all.
"My Boat Rod is professional-grade; as far as I know, your shop doesn't have any Boat Rods! If you need one, I can lend you a set!" After finishing his sentence, Wang Ergou turned back to focus on his Float again; it seemed like that Bighead Carp from Yu Hu wasn’t looking so appealing anymore!
After calculating things through in his mind, Shi Tian thought aloud: "We still need to hold an Hemiculter Contest over the weekend for two days; let’s plan for next Monday! If the weather holds up well, we can head out for a few days next Monday and come back Thursday evening or Friday morning?"
After drifting at sea for four days, it was about time to call it an adventure. The usual Fishing Boat only went out for seven days during holidays when they had ample time.
"Are you serious?" Wang Ergou stood up, staring at Shi Tian. "If we're going to stay out there for a while, we need to prepare. If it's confirmed, we should start getting ready tomorrow!"
"Of course I'm serious! We'll contact everyone early Monday morning and gather at the Yacht Dock! We need to set sail, fill up on fuel, and buy ice and supplies for food and other necessities!"
"Right, we'll sort out the boat's supplies and fuel costs between us!" After confirming their plans, Wang Ergou immediately started reeling in his fishing line.
The big Tuna in Hai Li were calling out to him; what was there to miss about the Xiao Qing Yu in the reservoir? He quickly checked the weather and reached out to his group of Fishing Buddies who had experience at sea, asking where the big fish were biting. They were gearing up for a big catch!
Once he arrived at the shop, he called Scallions and Ginger to discuss their plans for the following Monday and also inquired about what preparations were needed for their trip.
He really didn't have much experience in this area; the last time they went out was organized by the Air Force, and he merely acted as a driver for a day, operating the boat. He didn't have to worry about food or other necessities—he only cooked a couple of dishes!
As for going out, Scallions and Ginger welcomed anyone who wanted to join. They agreed that on Monday morning, he would bring the boat to his Small Pier, and he would take Shi Tian along to stock up on supplies. As for food on the boat, there was no need for Shi Tian to worry; that was Scallions and Ginger's specialty—how could they possibly run out of food?
