Fishing was much easier than pulling up the iron plate. After spending half the day hauling iron, my arms could hardly take it anymore. I sat down by the edge of the boat with my Fishing Box and decided to play with it for a while. It wasn’t too bad to just fish like this!
In a daze, I cast a few lines when I finally snapped back to reality. Was this what you called a frenzy? Looking around, neither on this boat nor on the nearby ones was there a single catch. I rubbed my eyes and stared at Calmly.
“Quick, cast again! A school of fish just swam by; if you keep casting, you’ll catch something!”
As soon as Calmly finished speaking, I actually hooked a fish! It was so big that I could barely pull it in! In an instant, I was wide awake!
Seeing that I had caught a fish, Calmly quickly changed his tune: “See? I wasn’t lying! I specifically came over to tell you when I saw the school of fish. I even lent you my Rod; you better give me half of that fish!”
“Brother Ran, this fish is really strong! Thanks to you waking me up; otherwise, I’d still be dreaming!” Not bothering to respond to Calmly’s teasing, I casually thanked him and began reeling in the line little by little.
“Just saying thanks won’t cut it! That fish better be half mine!” Seeing me joke around, Calmly reminded me again.
“Brother Ran, what kind of fish do you think this is? It can’t be Tuna; otherwise, it wouldn’t be so slow to reel in!”
“That fish better be half mine!”
“Brother Ran, this fish is huge; it’s impossible to pull in! Your line on this Rod is a bit thin!”
“Forget it! Do I really want this fish? You can just let it go! When we get back, treat me to a feast!” Calmly seemed defeated by my banter; when it came to fish, he wouldn’t loosen his grip. Asking him for a fish was less practical than having him treat us to a meal!
“Alright, I’ll arrange that when we get back!” Hearing this, I immediately promised: “I’ll treat you alone when we return; let’s have the sea as our company and maybe invite Shi Tian too. Should we also call Dogzi and Xiaomi?”
After just a few exchanges, Calmly raised the white flag of surrender!
“Are you really treating me alone? Is that how it works?”
My words made even the sea nearby raise an eyebrow! This guy had quite the plan; treating a few people would definitely lower the standard of the meal. It might end up being just some skewers from a street stall!
“Brother Ran, that works too. After we get back, let him treat you alone while we accompany you. For this kid's happiness, I even contributed a Tuna; he should treat me separately too. Then you can accompany us!”
Shi Tian would definitely not miss out either; getting a free ride on someone else's boat meant he had to treat everyone after returning. We’d both go along to keep him company!
With just a few words from the sea, I started feeling overwhelmed!
How did one meal turn into three in the blink of an eye? With a smirk, I said: “Catching this big fish is all thanks to Brother Ran! And that Tuna incident was also thanks to Hai Ge! This little brother remembers everything!”
So once this fish is up, I'll find somewhere to process it and use it to properly thank both of you. We should also invite Shi Tian along for some drinks!
Once the sea made its move, I had no choice but to concede and contribute the fish on my Rod!
Shi Tian and Wang Gou had already caught several fish on their end while Turtle Trio was still struggling with that big one on my Rod. The size of the fish was certain, but the softness of the Rod was also undeniable.
After a busy half hour, they finally dragged the fish to the side of the boat. Net didn't hesitate and immediately dropped the hook; this fish was a bit too big for him to handle alone! It was a Manta Ray, as large as a frying pan. This must be the big guy that Shi Tian spotted on the Fish Finder!
The fish was quite unfortunate; it had barely made its way here without biting any Fish Bait before being caught by Da Gui Wang, who was still half asleep.
As soon as the Manta Ray was aboard, a group of people, including the Turtle Trio and an extra member, Sun Lang, felt a surge of pride. However, this wasn't the time to celebrate; they quickly took advantage of Zao Kou and cast their lines several more times. These two hours during the day were when the fish were most active!
But Da Gui's moment of triumph didn't last long. The boat opposite them had a lobster that hooked a fish, and judging by the speed of the line running out, it was undoubtedly a big one!
"Come on, Dog Brother! Put in some effort! You haven't caught a decent-sized fish this trip!" After trying to establish some presence over at Wang Gou's side, Shi Tian silently reeled in his line. He filled the Bait Cage with Xia Pi again and checked the Fish Finder to confirm that there were still big fish nearby before casting his line anew.
Today’s Tuna wasn’t around; there weren’t any big fish on the surface, so he decided to drop his line all the way down where there were a few decent-sized fish.
Seeing Shi Tian fishing at the bottom, Wang Gou immediately reeled in his Hook as well. He filled his Bait Cage too and followed Shi Tian’s lead to cast his line. There was no doubt about it; since Shi Tian had just checked the Fish Finder, he definitely knew where the fish were!
