After exchanging a few words with Electric Car Guy, Shi Tian began to steer the conversation towards fishing. Since class had just ended, he decided to take advantage of the break to educate his classmates about fishing—who knows, maybe he could reel in a few new enthusiasts!
"Electric Car Guy," he asked, "they say fish are nearsighted. When fishing, do they rely more on sight or taste to find Fish Bait?" After a whole class of listening, it was finally time for some solid information! With so many classmates around, surely he wouldn’t refuse to answer!
"Over ninety percent of the fish we catch rely on sight to detect Fish Bait! Therefore, the color of Fish Bait has a significant impact on fishing!" Shi Tian noticed that Electric Car Guy was becoming interested; he wanted to show off his knowledge in front of everyone.
Take the Black Sea Bream, for example. Although it's said to be nearsighted, under good water conditions, it can see bait up to ten meters away! Most carnivorous fish are colorblind, but omnivorous fish are quite sensitive to colors!
Different fish perceive colors differently. If you're fishing for Carp, the same flavor and conditions will yield better results with red bait than with yellow bait!
Listening to Electric Car Guy enthusiastically share his fishing expertise, Shi Tian quickly perked up and took notes. This kind of valuable information was the result of years of experience from a seasoned and professional Fisherman; it was an opportunity not to be missed!
Once Electric Car Guy had finished showing off, Shi Tian smiled slightly and stood up. "Electric Car Guy, practice is the only criterion for testing truth. There’s a lake downstairs; shall we go practice? Let’s show the whole class how it’s done!"
The fish in the university campus lake were beloved by all students. If they went fishing without a good reason, they might end up being featured on the school forum—if they were lucky!
Shi Tian's suggestion intrigued Electric Car Guy. He had been eyeing the fish in those two lakes for a long time but had never found an opportunity due to the overwhelming number of students around.
This idea was indeed good; taking a group of students to fish in the school lake could be framed as an educational activity. After all, they would release the fish back into the water!
However, materials were limited; he hadn’t brought his Rod today. "How about we organize this for next Monday? We can conduct this experiment together! The temptation of skipping class to go fishing is too great!"
After returning home, he would need to prepare for the lesson. Next Monday, while fishing, he could explain concepts and ensure they had plenty of Bait ready. They could set up experimental and control groups and combine teaching with fishing—what a brilliant idea!
"No Rod? No problem! I have several in my car—long ones and short ones—so we can gather different data. Let’s go!" He was eager to experiment while teaching.
"But I’m leaving for Guangdong next Monday; when would I have time to come here and fish with you? As a Fisherman, not casting a line when near water is a sign of instability!"
Upon hearing there were Rods available, Electric Car Guy's hands itched with excitement.
"You have five minutes! After five minutes, let’s meet at the small lake downstairs. The class monitor will take attendance; those who don’t show up will be marked absent! We can’t let the fish in the lake sacrifice themselves for nothing!"
With a wave of his hand, Electric Car Guy immediately dragged Shi Tian downstairs to pick out a Rod first so that this group could witness his fishing prowess!
When they opened the trunk, Shi Tian found only his own Customized Rod inside. This time it would be Electric Car Guy's turn to shine—after all, university professors shouldn’t be short on cash; perhaps he could even sell him one or two Rods!
"Electric Car Guy, this is my Customized Rod. Here, you choose first while I prepare some Line Setup!"
Generously placing the Rod in front of Electric Car Guy, Shi Tian turned around to grab a spool of line and several packs of Hooks. Such an event couldn’t be enjoyed alone; he needed to involve everyone since there’s strength in numbers!
The idea that laws do not punish many originated as an ideology meant to empower citizens against unfairness; however, this ideology has morphed over time! Now it often resulted in groups scavenging discarded tents or leftover items from others.
It wasn’t fair to blame those picking things up; it was more about the inaction of law enforcement! Laws not punishing many should apply selectively—proactive measures could be lenient while negative behaviors should be met with public consequences as examples!
It’s impossible to have that many rods; that’s not necessary. As long as the line is strong enough and the hook is good, you can even catch fish with a small stone tied to it! The fish in the school’s Artificial Lake have been raised like pets; if you throw in some sand, they’ll rush to taste it first. With a hook, you could catch fish even with your eyes closed! Who knows, we might even cultivate a few Fishermen among this group!
The Electric Car Guy is picking out rods while Shi Tian is tying lines. Everyone gathers around; each person gets a line with two hooks and a small piece of Lead Skin. There aren’t enough rods for everyone, so each person will have one line with two hooks. Over here, we have various Fish Baits. I’ll prepare them, and then everyone can come and take a portion. Let’s start the experiment together and remember to keep records! We need to see which type of Fishing Bait has the highest catch rate!
