Li Ziyu was in a hurry to deliver some ingredients to the old gentlemen, and Shi Tian couldn't chat with her for too long. After giving her a quick kiss through the screen, Shi Tian glanced at the night market by the Lancang River, realizing that she needed to coax Li Ziyu to Xishuangbanna.
Shi Tian initially wanted Sun Lang to get some pufferfish ingredients for the old gentlemen. They actually had a few packages in the store, which were prepared for Yi Laotou's visit. However, plans fell through, and before she could go fishing with Yi Laotou, she was scared into running off to Xishuangbanna.
The fishing lines used by the old men were all from Xing Brand, and the little prince of cutting lines wasn’t very effective; he couldn’t really cut them at all. Even if he managed to get some pufferfish ingredients, it would only add another dish for Yi Laotou.
While they couldn’t provide pufferfish, Shi Tian thought it would be nice for Li Ziyu to show off a little in front of the old gentlemen. Once they returned, she could ask Yi Laotou to teach her how to prepare pufferfish.
“September, Eleven, let’s go! I’ll take you somewhere fun!” Li Ziyu waved her hand and took the two of them to Shi Tian's yard to grab their gear.
They brought two nets and two small buckets. September and Eleven were responsible for catching fish while Li Ziyu would distract the old men.
Under the pretense of watering flowers, she went up to the third floor and followed Shi Tian's instructions to scoop up dozens of shrimp from the tank meant for catching Shi Ban. Carrying down the small fish bucket that Shi Tian had specially made for her, she took both of them straight to the old men’s stronghold.
“Xiao Yu, isn’t it a bit wrong for us to steal from the old gentlemen? We just received their red envelopes the day before yesterday, and now we’re here trying to take their fish. What if we get caught? We’ll be in big trouble!” Eleven said anxiously as he looked out at the pond from the car window, his hands tightly gripping the net while his eyes were fixed on Xiao Yu.
“Don’t worry! They won’t catch us! Just wait until I get out of the car; you guys can follow me three minutes later. I’ll keep those old men occupied while you catch fish in the pond. You have half an hour—no matter how many you catch, just get in the car and hide them in the trunk!”
“Even if we do get caught, it’s fine; we can just blame it on Tian Ge and say he told us to do this!”
Li Ziyu clapped her hands together for courage and gave both of them a thumbs-up. Gritting her teeth, she turned around and got out of the car. She pulled out a large box of ingredients from the trunk and took a glance at the two cameras mounted on the board room before heading down a small path towards the seaside.
Once out of sight of the cameras, she tore off two pieces of cardboard from the box, folded them slightly, and stuck them against the wall before tiptoeing back. With a quick motion, she hung one piece over a camera.
With both cameras covered, she signaled to her companions in the car before running towards the seaside with the ingredients and small bucket.
“Old gentlemen! I’ve brought you some ingredients!” Having spent too much time with Shi Tian, Li Ziyu found herself getting carried away. Instead of addressing them as “grandpas,” she directly called them “old gentlemen.”
As soon as they heard that ingredients had arrived, all four old men’s enthusiasm skyrocketed. They rushed forward to take the box from Li Ziyu’s hands.
In terms of speed, Old Liu was unbeatable. He was first to grab the box from Li Ziyu and praised it before turning around to squat down and scan it with his phone.
Yi Laotou didn’t have as thick skin as those three; seeing that Li Ziyu still had something in her hands, he glanced at Old Kong and his companions but decided not to neglect Li Ziyu.
“Xiao Yu, what’s inside? Come on, let me carry it for you!”
“Yi Grandpa, this bag has a few bottles of water; it’s a bit hot here so I brought some water for you.”
“This little fish bucket has shrimp raised by Tian Ge. He used to say they were specifically for catching Shi Ban; I’ve never seen him use them before. I secretly caught a few dozen for you—don’t tell him!”
These shrimp were kept in Shi Tian's room on the third floor; apart from Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er, only Li Ziyu knew about them.
Shi Tian wasn’t worried about letting Li Ziyu deliver shrimp to those old men. They could enter their yard or even their hall but couldn’t access any of the upstairs rooms where those shrimp were kept.
If these shrimp are effective, that would be incredible. With three large ponds, they have only used one so far. To catch the Shi Ban, wouldn't those old gentlemen have to activate another pond to raise shrimp?
Even if they don’t use the large pond, they could dig a small pond specifically for shrimp farming. Once the shrimp are raised, they could come over anytime to catch as many as they want, all for free!
Handing the water-filled bag to Yi Laotou, Li Ziyu noticed Yi Laotou reaching for the small Fish Bucket in his hand. Quickly retracting his hand, Li Ziyu said, "Yi Grandpa, where's your Fish Bucket? Let me pour the shrimp into your Fish Bucket!"
Upon hearing that Li Ziyu had brought live shrimp specifically for catching Shi Ban, Old Kong and Old Wen immediately stopped their actions in Xia Shou and rushed over. Watching Li Ziyu pour a small bucket of shrimp into Yi Laotou's Fish Bucket, the two old men flanked Yi Laotou and headed off to catch shrimp.
"One shrimp at a time," Old Kong said, not rushing to cast his line. He turned to Li Ziyu and asked, "Xiao Yu, I saw you moving some speakers into Xiao Tian's yard yesterday. Are you setting up a media room? How's that going?"
