Watching a few old men working on this half-finished pier, it was Shi Tian's first time fishing here. The pier project had come to a halt, and it wasn't just because Yi Laotou was the only one here, overwhelmed with work; that was merely an excuse. A few of the old men had mentioned to Kang Ziyu that they wanted him to ensure the pier could accommodate yachts of the Air Force's tonnage. He would need to come personally to negotiate with them. It seemed this halt in construction was a tactic from the old men to exert pressure!
What nonsense! The Air Force yacht wasn’t his; it could dock wherever it pleased, so what did it have to do with him? They couldn’t leverage anything against him! Even if he built his own boat or bought a large one in the future, he could spend some money to expand the small pier in the villa area. He could dock there regularly and find a yacht dock during typhoons; that would be far more convenient than docking here!
Finding a temporary fishing spot nearby, he grabbed a rod, caught a live shrimp, hooked it on, and cast it out. It seemed no one had fished here for several days. He rummaged through the fishing box for something to create a bait bed; without doing so, it would likely be hard to catch any fish here! After all, this place wasn’t like across the street where people fished daily and were obligated to prepare bait for Spider Spirit.
He had prepared some bricks and powder earlier but had thawed too few Antarctic shrimp—was there not enough? Should he add something else? After searching for a while, he found only a few packs of freshwater bait; there really wasn’t much usable!
Should he add some Lianhuan Woliao? Forget about mullet; those things smelled too bad—throwing them down would probably scare all the fish away! Lian Fish Bait was also lacking; never mind, let’s switch it up! He decided on a pack of Carp Bait instead! Carp Bait is sweet, and since southerners like sweet food, southern fish should also prefer sweet bait—this should work!
After adding a pack of Carp Bait, realizing it was still a bit short on quantity, he grabbed another pack of bait to make up for it—this should last until dark! He dumped everything into a basin, added some water, and started preparing a few test spots! If it worked well, he could scale up.

With fewer fishermen around and no one else preparing bait beds, they had to do it themselves! Xia Zhuang and Xia Fen were worried about not having enough and added more Carp Bait—time to test its effectiveness!
Proudly introducing his creation to Air Force, he pulled out a cigarette box and lit one up; they would know its effectiveness in less than half an hour!
Initially thinking Shi Tian was working on some high-tech gadget, upon hearing Xia Zhuang and Xia Fen’s names, Air Force shook his head slightly.
Crushing the Antarctic shrimp into pieces—Shi Ban were bottom-dwelling fish. Given the depth of water here, crushing the shrimp would speed up how quickly Wo Liao sank! As soon as he finished speaking, Air Force began getting busy.
With a good scoop, Shi Tian pulled a handful of Live Shrimp from the small bucket and tossed them into Wo Liao, while Air Force continued its work.
Could it really be this easy? If I had known, I wouldn't have gone through all that trouble. Just grab some shrimp, mix them with Xia Zhuang and Xia Fen, add some flour to Hai Li, and the result would surely be better than this dark cuisine!
After replenishing two fishing spots, just as I was thinking about a third, Wo Liao had already been taken away by Lu Ya.
"Lu Ge, aren't you going to smoke today? Why are you back to using the Iso Rod?" I ran over to Lu Ya with my bait, hoping for another round.
After two days of long-distance fishing, I was tired. Just casting the Iso Rod for a break—I'm done for now!
"You rest; I'll handle it myself!" As soon as I finished speaking, I reached out and snatched the bait from Shi Tian's hand, smoothly transferring it to Lu Ya without any hesitation.
A bowl of Wo Liao went around among the three of us, and by the time Yi Laotou and Shi Chui arrived, it was already empty.
"How's it going? Any bites? You guys are still baiting?" Yi Laotou casually asked as he looked over our shoulders.
Yi Laotou wasn't genuinely angry about snatching a few Live Shrimp; it was just that there were limited shrimp in the pool. It seemed like he really needed to take Shi Chui's advice and set up a fish tank to raise some separately; otherwise, these little guys would drain the pond dry in no time!
"No bites yet; just started baiting!" Yi Laotou turned around. Shi Tian chuckled and said, "Master, where did you catch that Longfin Grouper?"
"Right here at this Fishing Spot. What? Are you offering to let me have your Fishing Spot?" Yi Laotou bent down and scooped a few shrimp from Shi Tian's bucket, eyeing him playfully.
Fishing is such a tedious task; just leave it to me. You can relax and wait for dinner tonight! With an awkward smile, Shi Tian scratched his nose.
As soon as he finished speaking, the Float dipped sharply. He raised his rod and hooked a fish!
Seeing Shi Tian catch a fish, Yi Laotou shot him a glance and hurriedly moved aside to cast his line. It seemed that the shrimp were indeed effective; he had hooked one so quickly!
Reeling in the line revealed an Azure Grouper—not particularly rare and quite small too—probably less than a pound.
The Azure Grouper is a large species of Shi Ban; it's not unusual for them to weigh several dozen pounds. At less than a pound, this one wasn't even mature yet—what a pity to throw it back!
