The Sailfish grows at a speed comparable to its swimming pace, reaching two to three meters in just a short time. A Sailfish over four meters is not uncommon here, and encountering a group like this certainly makes one eager to catch one. However, whether they bite the hook depends entirely on their mood. Whether they decide to take the bait, whose bait they choose, and which fish should be sent to take the hook—all of this is quite a mysterious affair!
When a fish bites, Shi Ye remains calm and collected, while those around him are visibly more excited. Since a fish has taken the bait, there's no fear of it escaping! The lead line is taut, and a significant length of line has already been pulled from the reel, as he wants to avoid any damage to the line ahead.
The line on the rod is nearly a thousand meters long. With one strong pull, nearly two hundred meters of line is released; the fish can’t drag it anymore, and it's time for the Electric Reel to get to work. "Lu Ge, help me spray some water on the brake; this two hundred meters of line is being released too quickly, and the brake must be getting hot!" Shi Ye instructs Lu Ya to spray water on the brake while he remains unhurried in reeling in.
If he reels in too quickly, the fish might exert more force. If that happens and the braking force decreases, it could lead to real trouble! After a mist of water rises, Shi Ye pushes the Electric Reel and begins reeling in with the rod. A fish of this size won't just exert force once!
"Should I turn the boat to help?" Seeing the slow speed of reeling in, Shi Tian wants to assist Shi Ye in getting this fish onboard as quickly as possible, even though he feels reluctant to leave the school of fish behind.
"No need; just focus on catching your fish! Chasing after them with the boat is rather uncouth! This is a battle of strength! Pay attention to how this fish moves; if it swims towards you guys, make sure to lower your rod so that it doesn’t get tangled!"
As soon as he finishes speaking, the sound of line being released echoes; the second wave of force comes surprisingly early—this fish is enormous! Shi Ye's words make Shi Tian's face flush. "Are you talking about me? That’s a Whale Shark we’re dealing with! We’re talking about six or seven hundred pounds! Can we really not chase it? I can’t match that kind of strength!" After venting his frustration, Shi Tian gives his rod a tug and starts reeling in slowly.
The school of fish has already been driven over by the Sailfish. He reels in fifty meters of line first; over there are waiting Sailfish that might assert dominance by taking his bait in front of those little fish!
What does it feel like to catch a Whale Shark? Mentioning that Whale Shark piques the interest of all three. In Shi Tian's group, they once saw that Whale Shark and were awed by its size—so large that they wanted to fly straight to Sanya overnight just to go out to sea.
Tying a fishing line to the back of a car and letting it drag you along feels almost identical to catching a Whale Shark! The only difference is that the car moves faster! Just thinking about that Whale Shark makes Shi Tian want to complain.
After struggling for quite some time with both arms feeling swollen, he finally caught one. Not only could he not keep it, but he also spent over a thousand dollars on bait and shrimp—Shi Chui had fed them most generously!
After another wave of force, over a hundred meters more line has been released; now nearly six hundred meters are out. After two waves of exertion, the line finally begins to be reeled back in.
The Sailfish is fast, but its explosive power doesn’t last long—much like a cheetah. If it were gradually exerting force, Shi Ye would have to handle it more cautiously. However, after two consecutive bursts of strength, Shi Ye feels confident that victory is within reach.
The Sailfish clearly lacked experience, struggling until it exhausted itself and finally calmed down. Although the line was not being reeled in quickly, Shi Ye was not in a hurry. After two strong bursts of energy, it would likely take at least ten minutes before the fish would attempt another surge.
Wasn’t that obvious? If it had experience, it would have already been hooked! The only ones bold enough to confront Shi Ye in this way were Shi Chui and Yun Wan'er.
On the boat's deck, Yun Wan'er, along with Lu Ying Er and Kang Ziyu, were busy recording with their phones, leaving them no time to tease him.
Watching Shi Ye show off, the others could only shake their heads. Unfortunately, with no fish on the line, their banter lacked conviction!
With a sudden jerk, Shi Ye's rod trembled as a large Sailfish leaped out of the water, crashing back down and splashing a massive wave.
Seeing the fish up close was quite an impressive sight!
At a distance of one hundred fifty to two hundred meters, Shi Tian tightened his grip on the rod while letting the fish pull line from the reel.
"Tian Ge, you got this! You're the best!" Kang Ziyu shouted from the deck as she focused her phone on Shi Tian.
"Xiao Yu, make sure to capture me looking cool!" Despite feeling some strain in his arms, Shi Tian still found time to throw out some playful banter.
He had to admit he was somewhat impressed by Shi Ye; it wasn't until he had the fish on his line that he realized just how strong it was. He considered himself strong, but Shi Ye didn’t seem to be struggling any more than he was!
While Shi Ye's fish swam outward, his own was heading toward the stern. Although he was reluctant to engage with the Sailfish there, it had chosen its battleground, and he had to maintain his dignity!
Taking two steps toward the stern while waiting for the first surge to pass, he found that this fish was behaving unpredictably and swam toward the port side instead.
If it were a Mini Air Force boat, it wouldn’t be a problem. However, on the Air Force vessel, this became quite troublesome; the power cable for the Electric Reel couldn’t reach that far!
