Returning to the courtyard, he saw Kang Ziyu playing with the Duck while the air conditioning technician was busy installing the unit, nearly getting the outdoor unit inside the house.
"Hey, technician! You need to drill a hole down here for the Condensate Drain Pipe; otherwise, where will the condensation water go? We can't just set up a bucket to catch it!"
The outdoor unit for the living room's air conditioner was connected to the back of the house and was mounted quite high. The Condensate Drain Pipe needed a hole drilled below; otherwise, the condensation water wouldn't drain properly.
Before they had even drilled the hole, the Installer had already started setting up the indoor unit. It seemed he planned to install it and run the water pipe behind the air conditioner. By the time they realized there was no place for drainage, they would have already settled their payment and left.
"We didn’t bring a long enough drill bit to make a hole. You can just drill it yourself later," the Installer said impatiently in response to Shi Tian's complaints.
Despite how small that hole might be, it was in solid stone foundation and thicker than a brick wall—drilling would be quite a hassle! This was clearly an act of laziness.
"If you didn’t bring a drill bit, then don’t install it. Just take these three air conditioners and all my appliances back! I don’t want them anymore; I’ll just go buy from somewhere else tomorrow that can actually install them properly."
He had purchased these items from a physical store, not online. Who would believe that an air conditioning installer would show up without a drill bit?
Having spent nearly twenty thousand yuan on these items, he couldn't accept such poor service. Did they think they could take advantage of him just because he was young and inexperienced?
Upon hearing Shi Tian's intention to return everything, the Installer looked stunned. If he actually took everything back, he wouldn’t get paid tonight!
"I’ll check in my truck for a drill bit. If I find one, I’ll drill it for you right away; if not, I’ll have someone bring one over! I promise we’ll get it installed tonight!"
Shi Tian stared coldly at the Installer but didn’t refuse. If he weren’t in urgent need of these appliances tomorrow, he would have returned everything without hesitation.
If he hadn’t discovered this issue himself, trying to drill after installation would have been a real headache.
The air conditioning pipes were copper and couldn’t be moved; drilling would require disassembling the unit. After drilling, they’d have to reassemble it—what a hassle that would be! It could easily take half a day along with disassembly and reinstallation fees. He didn’t want to end up being taken advantage of!
"I’ll find that drill bit; if not, I’ll call your boss and have him come deliver one personally while supervising you!"
Being kind often leads to being taken advantage of. Since this Installer didn’t appreciate kindness, Shi Tian decided to play the role of an antagonist today and keep an eye on him for any mistakes!
Once he found a drill bit and started drilling, Shi Tian immediately began nitpicking: "Is this hole even going to work? You need to angle it downward slightly to prevent rainwater from backing up and ensure proper drainage for condensation water. There are standards for installation; you should know how many degrees it needs to tilt!"
With his legs crossed like a boss, Shi Tian took on an authoritative stance.
Seeing Shi Tian’s demeanor, another Master quickly approached, sensing trouble brewing.
"Brother Huang Pao is here; don’t be angry! I’ll handle this air conditioner installation."
As soon as Master took action, Youngster was driven out. Shi Tian got up; he needed to check all the equipment that had been installed today.
