Listening to the two of them bickering, Shi Tian could only raise his hands in surrender. Coming to Jiangnan to open a store, he indeed hadn't thought it through; he had only focused on boosting the visibility of Xingpai Fishing Gear.
However, the results were not bad at all. Just a few stores had opened, and the feedback from Old Lin indicated that orders had noticeably increased. How much did those few stores cost? Selling just a few rods would cover the expenses.
As long as there was a stable customer base, their consumption would be ongoing, and this was just the beginning; future sales would only increase. It was like advertising at an airport—one billboard's cost was not less than that of opening a store. Even if those billboards seemed to go unnoticed, they could still drive product awareness and sales.
If you weren't interested, that was fine; I’ll talk to Pingtou Ge later. He'll be back in a few days, and once he returns, he will definitely be interested in this matter.
Pingtou Ge had been at sea for nearly a month and should be returning soon. The first thing he would do upon returning would be to contact him about the boat. It was likely that they could strike a deal.
For Shi Tian, setting up Didi Fishing Service required no cost at all. Social Media was readily available; he could have Smart Rod Software generate it. Customers would take some effort, but it was just a matter of setting up a download server, which he could handle himself.
With this Social Media platform, once promoted, both Xing Brand users and those fishermen who didn’t have time to fish would learn about Star Brand Rods. Such an excellent promotional tool—why not use it?
This wasn’t like creating a commercial ride-sharing app; it was more like developing an entertainment platform that wouldn’t require much operational cost—just a few customer service representatives to handle complaints.
At the Fishing Tackle Shop, Wang Gou and his team were already there, guiding a group of novice fishermen who had just entered the world of sea fishing. When they saw Shi Tian’s boat approaching, the three jumped aboard to check the live well for their catch and see what fish were around.
As they pulled two Large Yellow Croakers onto the dock, Li Ziyu and her friends had already heard the commotion and rushed out. Seeing the fish in Shi Tian's hands, they didn’t approach.
"Brother Jin, how’s it going?" Shi Tian called out as he hurriedly tried to sell fish before Oka and Sun Lang disembarked.
He recognized this person; before setting off, Oka had mentioned him and referred to him as Brother Jin.
Rolling his eyes at the overly familiar Shi Tian, Brother Jin seemed reluctant to engage. "You’re showing off your catch right in front of me! I can fish too!" However, glancing at Shi Tian's Large Yellow Croakers and then at his own Sea Bass in the cooler made him feel somewhat better—it was quite a disparity!
Had he really caught just two fish after hours out? He hadn’t caught as many as Shi Tian! Feeling slightly vindicated by this thought eased Brother Jin’s irritation.
Quality might be lacking, but quantity made up for it. In terms of numbers, his catch was enough to overshadow Shi Tian's. With this slight advantage, he felt justified in gloating.
"These are Large Yellow Croakers—how about I give you a discount? As long as you buy fish, feel free to mock me all you want; once I sell out, your face will be swollen from embarrassment!"
"No thanks, I have my own." Brother Jin smirked. "You want some? I can sell you a few." His words almost choked Shi Tian.
Those little Sea Bass in his cooler? He wouldn’t even take them for free!
"Brother Jin," Shi Tian said with a grin, "my fish come with bonuses! They’re going fishing at Langgang this afternoon for a day and a half and will return tomorrow night. There are still a few spots available on the boat—whoever buys more fish gets priority on that Fishing Spot! Spots are limited; are you sure you don’t want to buy some?"
Langgang was quite far from here; thirty miles north lay Dongji Island, and another ten miles northeast from there was Langgang. If they took Oka’s small boat there, it would take over two hours.
