Shi Tian didn't need to say anything for A Heng to understand, so he spoke up, simply to relieve his own frustration. "Go on, let Lu Ya accompany you to buy a sheep. A Heng is taking a day off from the tribe today." He patted Shi Tian's shoulder and added a teasing remark.
If it were just a well, A Heng wouldn't need to involve the tribe; he could just send someone over. But since it involved follow-up plans, A Heng had to handle it personally. Shi Ye still needed to brief A Heng on the subsequent arrangements.
"Ye Ge, how about we eat Seafood? We've been having lamb every day lately; even burping tastes like lamb." At the mention of lamb, Shi Tian felt a headache coming on. The Chieftain was too enthusiastic, always shoving lamb into his mouth.
Not to mention lamb, they had eaten enough Seafood as well. The prices here were so low that it felt like they were giving it away; even vegetables were more expensive.
"Let's get some lamb and Seafood, and maybe some beef too. Remember to buy a few Jinxiu Lobsters and Su Mei Fish, and grab a whole Eastern Star Grouper as well; there won't be anything left after that." He gave Shi Tian a pat on the shoulder, and Air Force followed Shi Ye into the car. Once the door closed, they left him and Lu Ya on the street.
They even left a car for them; otherwise, they would have had to take a tricycle to the market.
Shopping at the market with Lu Ya was an eye-opener for Shi Tian. It seemed Lu Ya hadn't been here in a long time; remnants of his past glory still lingered in this place.
He casually called over a Huang Niu and listed what he wanted to buy. The Huang Niu quickly gathered everything and loaded it onto the car, paid up front, and even tipped an extra ten thousand before driving off.
This was quite normal; after all, this was what Huang Niu did for a living. However, for the Huang Niu not to ask for even a single cent in profit was somewhat excessive!
"Lu Ge, when did these Huang Niu become so honest? They don't even want to negotiate?"
It's important to note that Huang Niu's main source of income wasn't tips but rather the price differences. How had Lu Ya managed to make them abandon their usual practices?
If they weren't honest, they would get beaten; if they became honest, they wouldn't ask for profit anymore. Although it had been over six months since he last came here, most of the Huang Niu still recognized him. Many of them had been beaten by him before and knew he disliked haggling.
Listening to Lu Ya recount his glorious achievements made Shi Tian feel eager to try his hand at it too. The car had already driven half a street away when they turned back and found a corner to stop.
"Lu Ge, wait in the car; I want to have some fun too!"
After giving that instruction, Shi Tian got out of the car and headed toward the Seafood market. Immediately, a group of Huang Niu surrounded him, eagerly mentioning lobsters and Stonefish.
“How much for this Tuna?” He pointed at a Yellowfin Tuna weighing around seventy or eighty pounds. Shi Tian didn't even need to speak; the Huang Niu started quoting prices right away.
They didn’t use Sri Siva Language but spoke Mandarin instead. This group of Huang Niu might not know much but could communicate in bits and pieces.
"Five hundred fifty thousand," one said eagerly. Freshness was emphasized as various phrases tumbled out of their mouths—complete sentences were hard for them, but they conveyed their meaning well enough.
Five hundred fifty thousand for one Tuna; converting that came close to seventeen hundred. It might be cheap back home, but here it felt like being robbed blind.
"Come here! Let's have a little contest—if you can beat me, I'll buy this fish for five hundred fifty thousand." This time he spoke in Swahili because Shi Tian was worried they wouldn’t understand him.
Shi Tian's words caught them off guard; several looked puzzled as if they'd heard something familiar before!
Suddenly someone in the crowd shouted "Halua," and instantly everyone scattered like birds startled from their perch. After falling for one trick, they learned quickly; you couldn’t let these Chinese people take advantage of them in this market!
