After repelling several bat-like monsters, the group had no time to catch their breath before a deep, rumbling roar echoed from the depths of the cave. Moments later, even larger creatures of the same kind charged out from the darkness. These monsters were not only massive, but their claws gleamed like blades in the faint light of the crystals, reflecting a chilling coldness. Moreover, they could spew corrosive liquid from their mouths, instantly eroding the rocks beneath them into deep pits.
"Everyone be careful; these monsters are tougher!" Liang Tian shouted, quickly channeling his spiritual energy to activate his Treasure. The Treasure erupted with a powerful light, illuminating the cave like a blazing sun, causing the monsters to momentarily shut their blood-red eyes and hesitate in their attack.
Seizing the opportunity, Xiao Zhan let out a fierce shout and swung his long knife in a flurry of arcs as he charged toward one of the monsters like a fierce tiger. He moved agilely around the creature, searching for an opening to strike. The monster swung its claws at Xiao Zhan with deadly intent, but he dodged just in time, narrowly avoiding the lethal blow. With a swift motion, he slashed at the monster's leg. The knife struck true but only left a shallow wound, revealing the creature's tough hide.
The experts from the Hidden Sect also unleashed their respective Spells. The disciples of Lingxiao Sect formed a sword formation, sending streams of sword energy like lightning toward the monsters, targeting vital areas such as their eyes and throats. Meanwhile, the Sword Cultivators from Wan Jian Sect condensed their sword energy into sharp blades that sliced through the air toward the creatures. The cave was filled with a chaotic surge of spiritual energy and flashing lights.
One enraged monster opened its mouth and sprayed corrosive liquid at a Lingxiao Sect disciple. The disciples quickly cast defensive Spells, conjuring a transparent Spiritual Shield that blocked the liquid. However, upon contact with the Shield, it hissed ominously as signs of melting began to appear.
Seeing this, Liang Tian understood that he could not allow the Lingxiao Sect disciples to bear the brunt of the monster's attacks alone. He activated his Treasure once more; its brilliance intensified as it shot toward the creature that had sprayed liquid. Struck by the light, the monster let out a pained roar and halted its assault.
Taking advantage of this distraction, Xiao Zhan leaped high into the air, raising his long knife and channeling all his spiritual energy into one powerful strike aimed at the monster's neck. This blow contained all of Xiao Zhan's strength; with a sharp crack, he severed deep into the creature's neck, black blood gushing forth. In agony, the monster thrashed wildly, forcing Xiao Zhan to leap back to avoid its counterattack.
The other experts did not remain idle; they intensified their assaults while capitalizing on the monster's injury. Various Spells rained down upon it; despite its tough skin and flesh, it gradually began to falter under their combined onslaught.
Another monster unleashed corrosive liquid aimed at Liang Tian. Unfazed, he swiftly dodged while wielding his Treasure to conjure a colorful Spiritual Barrier that blocked all of it. Then, seizing an opening during the monster's attack pause, Liang Tian unleashed an advanced Spell from the celestial realm—a powerful Spiritual Power Beam that struck true. The creature had no time to evade and was hit squarely by the beam, its massive body flying back and crashing heavily against the cave wall with a resounding thud.
After an intense battle, these gigantic monsters finally fell one by one under their relentless assault. A pungent smell of blood filled the cave as they looked at the fallen beasts' corpses and collectively sighed in relief. Yet they knew this was merely another trial within the Ancient Well Adventure; ahead lay even more dangerous challenges and unknown secrets waiting for them to uncover as they pressed on to reveal the truth behind it all.
