Liang Tian and the others watched warily as the group of Spider Monsters loomed before them. However, before they could engage in battle, a sudden sound of mechanisms activating echoed through the cave. Liang Tian's heart sank as he shouted, "Everyone be careful, there are traps!"
No sooner had he spoken than a flurry of poisoned arrows shot out from the walls on either side of the cave. The arrows flew at incredible speed, glinting with a cold light in the darkness as they whistled toward the group. Liang Tian reacted swiftly, summoning his Treasure, and a vibrant Light Screen appeared instantly in front of them. The poisoned arrows struck the Light Screen with a series of metallic clinks before falling harmlessly to the ground.
"Quickly, we can't stay here! We need to move forward!" Liang Tian knew that once a trap was triggered, the subsequent dangers could be even greater. Under his leadership, they rushed deeper into the passage. However, just a few steps in, the ground suddenly collapsed, revealing an abyss that seemed bottomless. Xiao Zhan was quick on his feet; he grabbed onto a nearby rock and pulled a Hidden Sect expert beside him to safety. Liang Tian quickly used his spiritual power to pull everyone else to safety as well.
"There are just too many traps; it's impossible to guard against them all!" Xiao Zhan gasped for breath. Liang Tian furrowed his brow and replied, "Stay close to me; I'll lead the way. These traps must have been set intentionally to stop us from advancing. It seems we're getting closer to the location of the Evil Artifact."
The group cautiously continued along the edge of the passage, their eyes fixed on their surroundings for any signs of danger. Suddenly, rows of sharp spikes protruded from the walls, shooting out from all directions and leaving no place to hide. Thanks to his keen perception, Liang Tian sensed their movement in advance and shouted, "Dodge left!" Everyone quickly followed his command and successfully avoided the spikes' attack.
As they delved deeper, the traps became increasingly complex. Sometimes there were hidden flame jets in the ground that erupted with fierce fire; other times, massive boulders fell from above with tremendous force. Drawing on his extensive experience and sharp senses accumulated in the Celestial Realm, Liang Tian led everyone through one peril after another.
However, the difficulty of the traps continued to escalate. At one point, numerous tiny holes appeared in the ground, releasing a strange mist that carried a pungent odor. Inhaling it caused dizziness and disorientation. Realizing that the mist was toxic, Liang Tian immediately activated his spiritual power to form a protective barrier around them while shouting, "Everyone hold your breath! Don't inhale the mist!"
The group quickly channeled their spiritual energy to resist the encroaching fog. Under Liang Tian's guidance, they swiftly navigated through this hazardous area. Yet by this time, they were clearly feeling fatigued; continuously dealing with various traps had drained their physical strength and heightened their mental tension.
"Brother, this isn't sustainable; the traps are becoming harder to avoid," Xiao Zhan expressed his concern. Liang Tian nodded in agreement and said, "Brother Xiao is right; we need to pick up our pace and find a way to dismantle these traps or directly locate the Evil Artifact to end this."
At that moment, they arrived at a fork in the path. Each route was shrouded in an air of mystery that made decision-making difficult. Liang Tian carefully examined each path, trying to glean clues from their surroundings. He noticed strange scratches on the ground of one path that seemed connected to some mysterious runes he had seen earlier.
"Let's go this way," Liang Tian said as he pointed toward the path with scratches. Although some were apprehensive about this choice, they chose to trust Liang Tian and followed him down that route. Little did they know what dangers lay ahead—whether it would be more complex traps or revelations about the hidden Evil Artifact awaited them. In this treacherous cave, Liang Tian and his companions' adventure continued…
