In the valley, the moonlight poured down like water, casting a somber atmosphere within the makeshift tent. Liang Tian sat with the leaders of various Hidden Sects and Xiao Zhan, gathered around a stone table where a hastily drawn terrain map lay before them. This map depicted the locations relevant to the recent events. Not far away, at the medical station, the injured were gradually recovering under the care of Chen Xue and disciples from the Hidden Sects, but everyone knew that the crisis was far from over.
Liang Tian's expression was serious as he broke the silence. "Although the Dark Organization has been temporarily thwarted this time, based on my understanding of them, they will not give up easily. They are bound to return, and likely with even greater ferocity. Let's discuss what their next move might be and how we should respond."
Xiao Zhan furrowed his brow, stroking his chin as he pondered for a moment before speaking. "The Dark Organization has always resorted to unscrupulous means. I suspect they might try to ally with other evil forces to strengthen themselves before attempting to seize the Evil Artifact again. In our previous encounters with them, we discovered their spells are quite sinister; they may have hidden allies as well."
The Ling Xiao Sect Leader nodded slightly, picking up on Xiao Zhan's thoughts. "What Brother Xiao says is indeed true. If the Dark Organization can unite with other evil factions, their power will undoubtedly increase significantly. While we currently have this valley as a temporary stronghold, once they gather a large force, our defensive pressure will escalate dramatically."
The leader of the Wan Jian Sect stroked his beard thoughtfully, his gaze fixed on the terrain map. "From their previous methods, it’s also possible they will first seek to enhance their own strength. They might look for hidden places to cultivate in seclusion or search for ancient treasures and rare herbs to improve their cultivation levels. Once they are fully prepared, they could launch a surprise attack against us."
Liang Tian listened intently to everyone's analysis while quickly contemplating in his mind. He frowned slightly and said, "Everyone makes valid points. I speculate that the Dark Organization may seek out other allies since they are determined to obtain the Evil Artifact and will stop at nothing to expand their influence. On the other hand, they know we won't sit idly by and will surely strengthen themselves as well. Therefore, both possibilities are quite likely."
At this point, Liang Tian picked up a twig and gestured over the terrain map. "If they attempt to recruit other evil forces, they will likely head towards these locations." He pointed to several remote areas marked on the map that exuded a sinister aura. "These places have always been gathering spots for Evil Cultivators; the Dark Organization might seek cooperation there. If they aim to enhance their own strength, I know of a place called Blood Demon Valley, located a thousand miles from here, which hides treasures capable of boosting one's power—they are very likely to send people there."
The others followed Liang Tian's point direction, their expressions growing increasingly grave.
Xiao Zhan slammed his hand on the table and said, "So what do we do? We can't just sit here waiting for them to prepare and attack us! Why don't we take the initiative and scout these locations? We might disrupt their plans ahead of time."
After pondering for a moment, Liang Tian replied, "Taking the initiative is indeed an option, but most of us are injured right now; acting rashly would be too risky. Moreover, the Dark Organization is surely aware that we might take action and could have set traps in those areas."
The Ling Xiao Sect Leader nodded in agreement. "Liang Tian is right; we cannot act impulsively. The immediate priority is to ensure that the injured recover quickly while also strengthening our defenses in the valley. We can send some agile disciples skilled in stealth to secretly scout these suspicious locations and ascertain the movements of the Dark Organization before making further decisions."
Everyone expressed their agreement. They then discussed in detail how to enhance the valley's defenses and arrange for scouting personnel among other specific matters. The voices of discussion echoed through the tranquil valley as they faced an impending unknown crisis; they had to be fully prepared for what seemed like an even more intense confrontation between good and evil that was quietly unfolding…
