My experiment is already complete.
Chen Xuan stood in place, smiling as he clapped his hands. He looked around at the puzzled Experimenters and said, "Could someone please go call Professor Yang? Just tell him that I have finished my experiment ten days ahead of schedule. Let him come over for the evaluation."
Ten days ahead of schedule.
Inside the laboratory, the Experimenters frowned at Chen Xuan's audacious declaration.
It had only been a morning of testing, and lunch time had yet to arrive. Chen Xuan hadn't even conducted the most basic comparative tests, yet he claimed the experiment was complete? Where were the data? They could see clearly that Chen Xuan had done nothing but touch a tomato leaf; he hadn’t recorded even the most fundamental data. What kind of completion was this? Was he trying to fool them?
With this thought, many Experimenters displayed expressions of anger, their fury directed at Chen Xuan, ready to erupt.
"Senior Brother," at that moment, Zhang Hou hesitated. "Shouldn't we be a bit more cautious? The teacher gave us ten days; we still have plenty of time. There's no need to rush."
"No need," Chen Xuan shook his head confidently. "I have already obtained the most outstanding data. This is exactly what the teacher wants—the data he has always dreamed of!"
"Zhang Hou, trust me, go call the teacher over."
Zhang Hou felt a bit bewildered himself, surprised and confused by Chen Xuan's behavior. At this moment, he looked at the confident Chen Xuan, hesitating and unable to take that step forward.
Sun Gang, however, snorted coldly and strode out, mocking, "I'll go see for myself what insights Professor Yang's most prized disciple has to offer!"
Sun Gang quickly left, and soon after, hurried footsteps echoed from outside.
Then, Professor Yang entered Laboratory One with several core expert professors, his eyes filled with excitement.
"Chen Xuan, I heard you completed the experiment? Show me the data!" he exclaimed, instinctively reaching out his hand to receive the data that Chen Xuan must have prepared.
But Zhang Hou stood awkwardly in place, while Chen Xuan remained calm with his hands in his pockets.
"Hmm?" A sense of foreboding suddenly struck Professor Yang as he hesitated. "Where's the data?"
The experimenters in Laboratory One lowered their heads in unison, looking quite embarrassed. Zhang Hou instinctively turned his gaze toward Chen Xuan.
Professor Yang followed Chen Xuan's gaze, his expression shifting slightly as he struggled to contain his emotions. "Don't tell me you don't have the data?"
"Of course not," Chen Xuan replied confidently, pointing to his head with a grin. "Professor, all the data is right here in my mind. It’s absolutely accurate."
"Foolish!" Professor Yang exclaimed, his anger palpable. "How can the human brain compare to a machine? Chen Xuan, you’ve made a serious mistake this time. I must criticize you thoroughly—what if you misremembered the data? The consequences could be severe."
Chen Xuan shook his head with a smile, ready to respond when Sun Gang, standing nearby, interjected and recounted what Chen Xuan had just done in the lab.
"What?!" Professor Yang gasped, disbelief washing over him as he looked at Chen Xuan, disappointment etched on his face. "Chen Xuan! How can you be so reckless? I gave you ten days hoping you would optimize the data properly! It’s only been half a day, and I thought you had made significant progress. Instead, you’re just wasting time!"
With that, Professor Yang sighed heavily, clearly disheartened by Chen Xuan's lack of progress. The experts behind him shook their heads in disappointment as well. Sun Gang couldn't help but smirk with satisfaction at the scene unfolding before him.
However, Chen Xuan remained calm. He casually pulled a sheet of data from the table—this was the best data produced by Professor Yang's team after a month of hard work.
