Li Xinglan, hailed as the most outstanding genius since the founding of Tsinghua University, once achieved the astonishing feat of scoring full marks in all ten subjects. Many of the textbooks used at Tsinghua University today were authored by him. Three years ago, Li Xinglan went abroad for further studies, and it was expected that he would return to China, with Tsinghua even making an exception to offer him a professorship.
However, in a surprising turn of events, on his last day, the remarkably talented Li Xinglan decisively rejected Tsinghua University's invitation. After paying back the expenses for his three years of study abroad, he vanished without a trace.
It wasn't until last year that Chen Xuan accompanied Professor Yang on an overseas inspection that Li Xinglan reemerged before the public. By then, he had become the deputy director of one of the world's most advanced research institutions.
In response to Professor Yang's heartfelt disappointment, Li Xinglan remained unfazed and instead attracted numerous Tsinghua University students with promises of generous benefits. On that day, nearly all Tsinghua graduates chose to work at this research institute—everyone except Chen Xuan.
"You will regret this, junior brother," he warned.
Faced with Chen Xuan's choice, Li Xinglan smiled faintly, casting a mocking glance at him before turning to leave.
A year passed in the blink of an eye, and Li Xinglan's name resurfaced.
Professor Yang sighed, "He truly lives up to his reputation as a genius. He has achieved many outstanding results abroad."
"I heard that the Corn Project he led posed a significant threat to the Nong Wang Group of the Yue Ming family."

Chen Xuan raised an eyebrow. It was only now that he recalled Liu Yueming's identity as the daughter of the Nong Wang Group. The Nong Wang Group was a colossal entity valued at hundreds of billions, ranking among the top ten in the agricultural sector within Xia Country. They primarily dealt with corn, soybeans, and other agricultural products and their derivatives, holding a substantial market share both domestically and internationally.
Upon hearing this news, Chen Xuan hurriedly asked, "Teacher, is that Corn Project really that impressive? It can actually impact a hundred billion-valued group like the Nong Wang Group?"
"Very impressive," Professor Yang replied solemnly. "So far, our country's average corn yield is just over a thousand pounds per acre, while the highest record abroad is around two thousand pounds. The Corn Project led by Li Xinglan has reportedly surpassed that record."
"Xiao Chen, don’t underestimate this difference." Professor Yang continued, "Corn is an essential crop for us in Xia Country; we often use it to raise pigs and chickens, not to mention its numerous derivative uses. This difference in yield could provide an overwhelming advantage in the industry."
At this point, Professor Yang looked worried. "This information is from a year ago when it was relayed back from abroad. As for the current final data on the project, I have no idea. Over the past year, the stock price of the Nong Wang Group has plummeted by thirty percent."
Hearing this, Chen Xuan furrowed his brow in surprise; he had not expected such developments.
In a distant land, Li Xinglan stirred up quite a storm back home.
Chen Xuan spoke in a low voice, "What is the Nong Wang Group planning to do?"
Professor Yang shook his head and sighed, "They have gathered many experts and allocated a lot of funds to establish a Corn Project. Unfortunately, progress has been slow."
"Xiao Chen," he continued, "I won’t hide this from you. Once things wrap up here, I will set off for the Nong Wang Group. I hope to assist them in some way."
Professor Yang's tone was filled with helplessness, clearly indicating that he wasn't very confident about the situation.
Seeing this, Chen Xuan comforted him, "There's no need for such concern, Professor. Where there's a will, there's a way. I believe this challenge won't defeat us."
"Well said!" Professor Yang smiled with relief. He stood up and said with a grin, "Alright, let's not dwell on this tonight. Go and relax with those young folks."
"Oh, by the way," Professor Yang suddenly paused, scanning the surroundings with a mysterious air. "That kid Yue Ming is quite good; you should seize the opportunity with him."
