"Ah!"
The man exclaimed in surprise, looking at Chen Xuan with delight. "You are Chen Xuan?"
"Hmm?"
Chen Xuan turned his head, puzzled by the middle-aged man who had called out to him. He tentatively asked, "And you are...?"
"I am Hu Dahai, a student of Professor Yang."
Hu Dahai laughed heartily, excitedly patting Chen Xuan on the shoulder. "You’re quite the pride of our teacher now! I often see you in the class group."
"Hu Dahai?"
Chen Xuan paused for a moment before quickly reacting, shaking Hu Dahai's hand with joy. "I finally found you! Brother Dahai, to be honest, I came here looking for you."
"Looking for me?"
Hu Dahai was taken aback, his gaze scrutinizing Chen Xuan. He cautiously probed, "You’re not here to buy agricultural equipment from me, are you?"
"Exactly!"
Chen Xuan glanced at Hu Dahai and then looked up into the supermarket. "Is the equipment inside?"
Hu Dahai smiled wryly. "What inside? I’ve long since switched careers."
"What? Why?" Chen Xuan asked, confused.
Hu Dahai sighed helplessly. "Agriculture is said to be the lifeblood of the nation, but who really respects those of us in this field?
Back when I had dozens of pieces of equipment, it took me four or five years to sell just half of them. Now there are fewer and fewer people working in agriculture; the equipment is hardly moving, and big clients look down on my domestic products."
"So..."
Hu Dahai shrugged and spread his hands. "I simply switched to running a supermarket. Believe it or not, running a supermarket makes more money than selling agricultural equipment! I’ve got a wife and kids now."
Hu Dahai clicked his tongue in admiration.
Chen Xuan fell silent upon hearing this. He patted Hu Dahai on the shoulder, saying nothing as he quietly turned and walked away.
"Hey, Junior Brother, why don't you stay for lunch?" Hu Dahai raised his hand to keep him from leaving.
Chen Xuan waved his hand without looking back. "Maybe next time."
Feeling a bit down, he returned to the farm. After parking the car, he thought for a moment and opened his phone to browse through some materials.
The documents were just sent to him by his mentor, detailing the farms that had won the title of Global Most Beautiful Farm over the years. As he sifted through the information, Chen Xuan wanted to see just how advanced the technology was at these farms.
To his surprise, he found that foreign farms had developed high-tech solutions at an astonishing pace. They had reached a point where the Smart Cloud Management Model was in place. With just one computer, it was possible to monitor and manage the entire farm in real-time. This allowed for a seamless integration of Smart Farming, Smart Irrigation, and Smart Harvesting services.
Of course, this level of high technology was currently only being tested on some small-scale farms. There was still a long way to go before it could be widely implemented. Most of the farms that had previously won championships had made improvements using common equipment. For instance, last year's champion utilized drones for efficient intelligent pest control, which earned them the title and a prize of ten million dollars.
As he looked at the mention of drones, Chen Xuan stroked his chin thoughtfully. If it were something particularly high-tech, he might not be able to achieve it.
If it were a drone, he could certainly give it a try. After all, the best drones in the world are right here in the country.
With that thought in mind, Chen Xuan immediately opened his phone and ordered a large agricultural drone from the Dajiang brand, priced quite high. The order confirmation indicated that the drone would be delivered in three days.
Chen Xuan put away his phone and decided to take a stroll around the farm to see if there were any areas that could be improved. As he passed by the orchard, he unexpectedly encountered someone familiar.
