In July, the climate in Siberia was pleasant. In a modest farmhouse courtyard, a long table was set with a feast of delicious food. Xu Li, dressed in the new clothes prepared by Natasha, sat between her two elegantly dressed sisters. Across from them sat a row of village elders, all smiling and offering their blessings. 0

Old Andrei raised his glass: "Today, my precious daughters Anna and Eva are marrying Makarov from Huaxia. To be honest, I’m not entirely at ease, but as children grow up, they need to have their own families. As their father, I wish my daughters everlasting happiness. Ura!" 0

Cheers erupted from family and friends on both sides of the table as they raised their glasses and downed shots of vodka. Xu Li took a small sip and set her glass down, while the two girls beside her happily devoured Xun Yu, their glasses already empty. 0

"Did you drink all the vodka?" Xu Li whispered to Anna, who nodded while chewing on Xun Yu. "It’s a bit spicy." 0

Unsure how to respond to that comment, Xu Li observed as everyone joyfully drank, ate, and sang. Before long, the atmosphere became more spirited. Across from Xu Li, Old Pushkin flicked away his cigarette butt and revealed a local specialty—Bomba—in his hand. With a wide grin that showcased his large, smoked teeth, he pointed at Anna and Eva. "Little Guy," he said, "they are not just Andrei's angels; they are also the angels of our village." 0

As he spoke, he stood up: "I heard that in your Huaxia weddings, you set off firecrackers. We don’t have those here, but I have Bomba! I’ll fire off a few rounds to celebrate for you." 0

With a series of loud pops, Xu Li's piece of chicken fell from her mouth onto her plate as she watched the flames erupt from the Bomba’s barrel. Glancing at the amused expressions of the other elders made her shiver unexpectedly. 0

"I brought some small Xiang Gua," Yurian said cheerfully as he opened his vest to reveal several black-painted shrapnel hand grenades. It was surprising that this old relic from decades ago was still in his possession. 0

"Let’s make some noise too!" He exclaimed with delight as he pulled out one grenade and prepared to remove the pin when Xu Li quickly stood up and waved her hands. "No, no! Just your good intentions are enough!" 0

"Do you look down on me?" Yurian shot back with narrowed eyes. "If Pushkin can shoot Bomba, why can’t I throw a hand grenade? We’re all here to celebrate you; why shouldn’t I be able to throw one?" 0

"It’s different!" Xu Li was nearly in tears while everyone else just laughed at the exchange. Anna and Eva clapped their hands excitedly with flushed faces. "Yay! Throw the hand grenade!" 0

"Look how happy our angels are!" Yurian said as he pulled out the pin and leisurely walked to the courtyard entrance. After scanning around to ensure no one was nearby, he tossed the hand grenade into a pre-dug hole. "Here it goes!" 0

After waiting for a few seconds: 0

"Why is there no sound? That shouldn’t be right." 0

I let out a belch and was about to check the situation when the ground beneath me trembled slightly: thud. 0

I cherished my treasures like they were the most precious things in the world, so how could it not make a sound? Heh. 0

Muttering to myself, I cheerfully returned to the dining table and raised my chin at the wide-eyed Xu Li: "If you dare to bully our Little Angel, I'll pull out Xiang Gua and stuff it in your mouth." 0
