Misha has grown up and learned to protect his wife. Andrei sighed, exhaling a puff of smoke, "I wonder if he can keep himself alive." 0

He should be fine; I see his chest rising and falling steadily. I gave him double the dose of adrenaline because I was afraid he might die on the way. 0

"What?" Vasily's eyes nearly bulged out. "Using too much of that stuff isn't good either." The vehicle quickly caught up with the ambulance, following it all the way to the hospital. As the stretcher was wheeled into the Emergency Room, Andrei waited outside while Vasily handled the payment. 0

That evening, Sophia dropped the two children off at Father’s house and drove to the hospital. When she found the two men, they were sitting closely together in silence, heads bowed. Sophia nudged Vasily, "What’s going on?" 0

"I don’t know yet; we’ve already received two critical condition notices," Vasily replied gloomily. He had signed both papers. Andrei sat there in a daze, his mind drifting back over the past two months, recalling Xu Li's little moments in their courtyard. 0

The young man had quickly shifted from fear and resistance to acceptance of reality, integrating into their lives and helping manage the ranch every day without rest except for meals. The two girls had also grown increasingly attached to him. Andrei couldn’t bear to think about how Natasha and the girls would feel if he were gone. 0

Time ticked by slowly, and the red light above them remained lit. At some point, a sharply dressed Zhong Ren appeared beside them. Sophia instinctively turned around and exclaimed, "Brother, what are you doing here?" 0

Vasily quickly stood up to shake hands with his brother-in-law while Andrei continued to sit silently, staring blankly ahead. Zhong Ren smiled, "Mom called me and said you and Vasily were at the hospital. I couldn't just sit at home worrying." 0

He turned to Vasily, "What happened?" 0

Vasily recounted the events leading up to this moment. Zhong Ren's eyelids twitched as he listened; a teenager battling a brown bear with a chainsaw sounded unbelievable. 0

"Brother, you still have work tomorrow; you should head back to rest. We can wait here," Vasily suggested. 0

But Zhong Ren shook his head. "As a deputy mayor, how much work do I really have? I’ll stay here with you guys and see that young man who dared to take on a bear." 0

He playfully punched Vasily's shoulder. "I’ve noticed that all the men in your family are quite determined. If you hadn’t dragged me away back then, I wouldn’t be standing here now." 0

"That’s all in the past," Vasily replied with a wry smile as he recalled their earlier chaotic days. He sighed and fell silent again. 0

Andrei suddenly stood up. "Vasily, come have a smoke with me." 0

Turning around, he saw Zhong Ren and paused for a moment. "Lekshev, when did you get here?" 0

"I’ve been here for a while, Uncle," Lekshev grinned as he pulled out a cigarette and handed one to Andrei. The two stepped into the hallway to smoke while Vasily and Sophia remained seated in anticipation. 0

Around two in the morning, the red light indicating danger finally went out and was replaced by a green light. 0
