Andrei hurriedly stood at the entrance of the Emergency Room. As the door swung open, a weary doctor stepped out, offering a faint smile to the anxious Old Russian. "The young man has a strong will to live. Even while unconscious, he was murmuring about Anna and Eva. Are they his family?" 0

Upon hearing this, tears streamed down Old Russian's face. The doctor gave him a comforting hug before walking away with stiff steps. Two nurses then wheeled Xu Li, who was completely wrapped in bandages, toward the Special Ward. 0

This brave young man had his right eye and nose bandaged, and even his mouth was covered, causing concern among those watching. Vasily's eyes twitched; it seemed likely that his face had been disfigured, and he wondered if it would frighten his sister. 0

"That's better than losing his life," Andrei said. "Go ask the doctor if Misha has any lasting disabilities." 0

After giving Vasily his instructions, Andrei followed the nurses to the ward, but Old Russian was ultimately stopped by them at the entrance. "Family members are not allowed in the treatment room." 0

"Thank you for your hard work," Old Russian said, leaning against the wall as he slowly slid down to sit on the floor. Once he relieved his worries, he felt weak all over and was helped into a chair by Sophia and Lekshev, who had followed him. They had also heard what the doctor said. 0

Lekshev suddenly felt a twinge of envy toward Old Russian because he had a troublesome eldest daughter who had just turned fourteen and had been dumped by a scoundrel. The girl had cried in her room for a long time. If only this young man could be her fiancé—someone brave enough to fight a bear for his loved one and still murmur their name while unconscious was truly rare. 0

"Dad!" Vasily ran over excitedly. "Misha is seriously injured but hasn’t sustained any disabilities—just soft tissue injuries. The worst part is his abdomen; the doctor said if they clean out his intestines in time, he’ll be fine after resting for a few months." 0

"And?" Vasily glanced at Old Russian. "His face is injured; his left ear has some deformation after being reattached, and his throat was hit, so he might have a change in voice." 0

"What about his eye?" Andrei asked Lao San. 0

"Misha's entire right side of the face is injured; did the bear’s claws not hurt his eye?" 0

"Hehe," Vasily chuckled. "The doctor said Misha is lucky; if the claw had gone in two millimeters deeper, he would have lost his eye." 0

"That’s good to hear." Andrei sighed with relief but felt weak in his legs when he tried to stand up. In the end, he was helped downstairs by Vasily and Lekshev. They spent the night at Vasily's house, and upon waking up, the first thing Andrei did was report safety to Natasha. 0

Xu Li woke up three days later; one of the side effects of excessive blood loss was drowsiness. He blinked with his single eye and turned to see Andrei peering through the window, laughing and crying at the same time. This sight deeply moved Xu Li; it was unexpected for such a strong-willed father-in-law to cry. 0

After spending a week in the treatment room, Xu Li was transferred to a regular single room. Looking at the fresh flowers on the bedside table, he winked at Sophia, whose eyes were red from crying. Her sensitive nature made her laugh at his pitiful appearance as she gently pointed at his exposed face. "Misha will look very different from now on." 0

Xu Li smiled softly and shook his head slowly, indicating that he didn’t mind. Andrei leaned down and kissed him on the forehead. "Rest well here, my child. I’ll return to the village for a while; Sophia will take care of you during this time." 0

"Okay," Xu Li responded with difficulty, wincing from pain in his throat as he furrowed his brow. Andrei patted him gently on the back of his uninjured left hand before turning to wipe his face as he exited the ward. 0
