Hehe, soon you will be in for a surprise.
I must say, the size of the granary really matters. The milk was saved for when the kids grew a bit older, but the two sisters directly squeezed out more than half a bottle. He closed the lid, turned his back to the little sun, sat down on a small stool, and pulled out the two little bear cubs from the box. Anna and Eva were momentarily stunned.
Eva skillfully patted the baby’s back. "Misha, are you holding a puppy?"
It was Misha, who would be raised and played with in the future.
He lightly swayed them, but the sisters widened their eyes and surrounded him with the baby in their arms, curiously examining the two Little Guys sucking on milk. Xu Li quickly said, "You can look but don’t touch. Wait until they grow a bit bigger before giving them a bath."
"Yay!"
Anna looked at the little bear cubs drinking milk and grinned. "When they grow up, I want to ride them in circles; it must be more fun than riding a horse."
Xu Li smiled but didn’t say anything.
In the following days, this small village of fewer than fifty people became lively. The old men and women loved to come over to Andrei's house after meals to see the children and enjoy the gifts Xu Li brought them.
When the weather was nice, he would carry an axe over to help chop wood for the elderly neighbors while also sharing a simple lunch with them. The food in each household was similar, and after finishing his work, he would chat for a while before heading home for dinner and playing with the kids.
During this time, Ivan and Yuri called him to thank him for buying them cars. Xu Li chuckled and said it was nothing special, encouraging them to come home early for a few days. The brothers readily agreed. He also picked a good day to head to Bratsk and followed Vasily to handle some paperwork.
The Little Bear Cubs didn’t grow very fast, but with plenty of milk available, Little Guy’s belly remained round and full. After eating well and sleeping enough, they tried rummaging through boxes but always ended in failure.
Before the New Year, Misha had grown quite a bit. Xu Li gave them a bath, and after drying them off, they were immediately taken away by Eva and Anna while their own child was handed over to the Old Couple. Little Guy had also grown some fur; it felt soft and warm to touch.
Misha laughed heartily.
As soon as Ivan got out of the car, he gave Xu Li a big hug. Yuliya hugged Xu Li and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you, Misha!"
"We're all family; no need for thanks."
Nephew led the way as everyone took turns hugging their generous uncle before surrounding the Old Couple. Once the children left for the living room, Natasha helped her daughter-in-law tidy up. Andrei had initially considered that many children would come later and worried there wouldn’t be enough space to accommodate them; that’s why he expanded from just one wooden cabin to what is now a long row of buildings. After all, there was a boiler for winter; it was just a matter of adding more firewood.
The next afternoon, Yuri's family and Vasily's family arrived as well. This usually quiet courtyard suddenly became lively. The children were led by several older kids and nearly turned the yard upside down.
They opened up the large firecrackers they had worked hard to buy, stuffed their pockets full of them, then lit cigarettes to throw around firecrackers everywhere. The most unfortunate were several Caucasians who had their large bowls of food overturned by this group of Little Brats.
Da Hei curled up in his doghouse, watching his food bowl flipped upside down in the snow. With a muffled bang sending it flying into the air, his thick lips began to twitch as he cursed loudly with some very foul language.
