At the dining table, Anan and Dasha were happily digging into their steaks. Xu Li took a sip of juice and said, "It's so good! Make sure to bring some back for me. I have plenty here."
"Then I won't hold back," Anan replied with a grin. After finishing their meal, the two sisters pulled Dasha upstairs. Xu Li and Anan settled on the sofa for a chat. Xu Li brushed off some ash from his cigarette and said, "Retail isn't necessary. It can indeed be profitable, but it requires a high investment and a lot of manpower. You also have to deal with some difficult customers, which could tarnish your reputation."
Xu Li took a sip of tea and continued, "I’d rather raise some cattle and sheep, and spend my spare time with my wife and kids. Money is endless, Anan; there's no need to make life so exhausting."
"What about live streaming?" Anan asked again. "It's just recording life. If you don’t want to stream, you can do what I do—focus on short videos and occasionally host a few live sessions."
"You’re pushing me to start live streaming as if someone’s offered you a deal," Xu Li replied, raising an eyebrow.
Anan chuckled awkwardly at his question. "It’s my platform that promised me if I bring you on board, they’ll adjust the profit distribution—my share will go up by one percent. That could mean a significant amount over a year."
"Here in Huaxia, as long as an influencer gains some popularity, they can easily earn tens of thousands in a month. If they excel at product promotion during live streams, they could even make millions monthly."
"Is that so?" Xu Li stroked his chin thoughtfully before saying, "I can just register one myself since it’s all for fun. As for signing contracts, let’s put that on hold for now."
"Sure! I can help you register. There are always some twists and turns in these things. I’ll call my contact to avoid any unnecessary complications," Anan offered.
Xu Li didn’t refuse. Anan made the call in front of him and used his phone to complete the registration in about four or five minutes. After handing the phone back to Xu Li, she asked, "Brother Xu, do you know how to edit videos?"
"Yeah, I learned a bit when I had time," he replied.
"Great! I look forward to your first video then. Let’s get started!" They exchanged smiles and switched topics, chatting away the afternoon. After dinner, they sent some beef and lamb to the couple before closing the door behind them as they left.
Anna immediately snuggled into Xu Li's embrace, resting quietly against him. After a while, she softly asked, "Xu Li, why hasn’t my belly changed since Misha gave birth to Lao San and Lao Si?"
Xu Li smiled broadly and replied, "Because I secretly got a vasectomy at the hospital. Seeing how hard it was for you all to get pregnant and give birth made me want to spare you some suffering. Having too many children can deplete your energy; it’s not good for your health."
"But I love babies!" Anna bit her lip and suggested, "What if we try again for another one?"
"Let’s not; aside from Zhuo Ya who is obedient, none of the other boys are easy to handle. Let’s just wait for grandchildren instead." He tightened his hold on Anna and added playfully, "What about Eva? Let’s have another round tonight."
She is taking a bath.
