Grandma
As Zhuo Ya rushed into the living room, she happily leaped into Natasha's arms. Nearby, Old Andrei chuckled, setting down his newspaper and reaching out to pat Peter's little head. "Your dad will be here soon. With those grades of yours, you're likely to get a beating. You better rub your backside good, ha ha ha!"
"Can you help me talk to him?" Peter looked up at the old man with hopeful eyes. "My dad listens to you and Grandma the most. If you say something, he definitely won't hit me."
"I can only talk to your uncle and your mothers. It's your father and mother's responsibility to educate you. As your grandparent, I don't intend to interfere with that," Old Andrei replied with a grin, picking up three-year-old Katyusha into his arms. "Your uncle will be here soon, and he even brought you a puppy to play with. How about that?"
"Yay!" the little girl clapped her hands excitedly. Nephew changed into his slippers and plopped down on the sofa, giving Peter a cryptic smile that sent shivers down his spine. "Cousin, can you tone down that smile?"
"Hehehe, your sister-in-law is going to switch classes next year."
Nephew grinned mischievously. "Your homeroom teacher will move to the high school department next year, and your Sister-in-law will be assigned to your class. She just called me about it! I already told your dad; after summer break, you and Zhuo Ya will come stay at my place. Your sister-in-law will tutor you both after school."
"What?" Peter jumped up with a shout, looking at his cousin's wicked grin and then at the other relatives. His face instantly fell. "Don't joke with me, cousin."
"Why would I?" Nephew smirked. "Thanks to you and Zhuo Ya, your dad wants to thank your sister-in-law for all the hard work tutoring you two by taking us car shopping tomorrow so she can drive you to school."
Peter slumped back onto the sofa, his eyes filled with confusion. It seemed like he could forget about playing after school from now on—what a bummer.
Around seven in the evening, Nephew opened the security door to find Xu Li and his wife standing at the entrance with bags in hand. Xu Li placed the gifts in the foyer. "I'll go down again."
He then carried in a butchered fat lamb and half a portion of beef into the house. The first person he embraced was Yuliya, who smiled after their cheek-kissing greeting. "Thank you so much, Misha. You brought so much; we can't possibly eat it all!"
"Just freeze it and enjoy it slowly," Xu Li said as he changed into slippers and hugged his Father-in-law and Mother-in-law. He then opened his arms wide for a happy embrace from Zhuo Ya. "Daddy is pleased with your exam results! Tomorrow I'll take you to buy a phone and a tablet, and we'll also get you a new laptop."
"Thank you, Daddy!" Zhuo Ya joyfully planted several kisses on Old Father's face. Peter approached Xu Li, forcing a smile onto his face. "Hehehe, Dad, I don’t need those gifts; I just saved you some money!"
Xu Li coldly laughed as she pushed her daughter aside, grabbing Peter by the collar and dragging him toward the balcony. The Little Guy cried out in panic, "Mommy, Mommy, help me!"
"Little Rabbit, if you don't study properly, are you trying to fly to the heavens?"
