This New Year was quite interesting. Xu Li's family had a video call with Angelina's father, agreeing that they would bring Angelina to the village for a few days in the coming summer. Xu Weixia also introduced Angelina to Ivan and his family, who had hurried back for the New Year. They had raised several cows for over twenty days, and Xu Li had slaughtered one for the New Year feast, but it was only thanks to Ivan's strong objections that the remaining three cows were spared. 0

Before the New Year, Xu Li had already sent them a lot of meat, and bringing back another batch wouldn’t be eaten in time. It was better to keep them for now and call when they were ready to eat again. They were one big family and never hesitated to help each other. 0

After the New Year, Peter first went back to Irkutsk with his nephew. This kid had a poor academic foundation and needed Safna to tutor him well. Xu Weihua and Xu Weixia also packed their things early and headed to Moscow. Angelina was reluctant to leave, wanting to stay a bit longer, but Xu Weixia wanted to leave early to record some songs. Old Father’s patience had reached its limit; he feared that his father might lose control in front of his girlfriend. 0

The father-in-law needed regular check-ups, so he had to return with Ivan. The mother-in-law couldn’t bear to be apart from the father-in-law, so she went back to Irkutsk with him. After bidding farewell to all their relatives, the small courtyard fell quiet again. The two brothers, Xu Weihua and Xu Weixia, confidently boarded their flight to Moscow with several recorded songs. Peter pouted as he was pulled into the car by his nephew, chuckling mischievously, clearly enjoying the misfortune of others. 0

Xu Li accompanied his father-in-law to the hospital for a check-up. Overall, all indicators looked good, which relieved the three of them. They said goodbye to Father and returned to the village, where they always felt a bit uneasy leaving Zhuo Ya alone. 0

Before heading back, the three of them stopped by a mall. Xu Li immediately spotted a pink headband that would look great on his daughter. Anna bought Zhuo Ya a new backpack and some school supplies, while Eva picked up several spring outfits and shoes. 0

Rushing back home, they arrived just after two in the morning. There wasn’t much going on at home; two large hamsters were curled up in a corner sleeping soundly while Boiler Room was shamelessly trying to steal milk from several puppies, much to Da Hei’s annoyance. 0

Xu Li quickly boiled some noodles for a late-night snack. Anna and Eva headed back to their bedroom to rest while he fed Xiao Hua and brought the shameless little one back to the bedroom before finally entering his daughter’s room. The little girl was sprawled out on her bed but woke up immediately upon hearing footsteps. 0

“Daddy.” 0

“Go to sleep; it’s late.” 0

He leaned down to tuck her in properly and was about to leave when Zhuo Ya grabbed his hand: “You woke me up.” 0

“Shall I tell you a story?” 0

“No! I want to hear the song you often sing for Mommy.” 0

“Alright, alright.” 0

He squatted by her bed, propping his head up with one hand while gently patting the blanket with the other. As he began to hum softly, she covered him with her blanket: “Don’t catch a cold, Daddy.” 0

Her concern warmed his heart. He then softly hummed "Melancholy," a song from Earth, with a deep and slightly hoarse voice that gave it a unique charm. 0

As he sang on, Zhuo Ya didn’t fall asleep right away; however, he gradually drifted off into slumber himself. After days filled with hosting guests and preparing gifts for his father-in-law’s return to Irkutsk, he hadn’t rested much at all. Lying in the warm blankets, he unknowingly fell into a deep sleep. 0
