A robust beef cattle was herded into a narrow passage. Under the guidance of a man, it stepped forward, its large head just penetrating the rubber curtain. Suddenly, it felt its body immobilized by an iron frame. A burly man holding a specialized nail gun pressed the barrel against the center of the cattle's forehead and pulled the trigger: *thud*.
The beef cattle collapsed, its body going limp. The men waiting below swiftly cut its throat to let it bleed out, then stabbed through its legs with a knife before using an iron hook to hoist it up, moving it to the next processing area.
The workshop was thick with the stench of blood. Piles of cowhide and hooves were loaded into plastic baskets and carted away by forklifts. The internal organs were sorted out for separate cleaning and packaging; cow stomachs, hearts, and livers were boxed up while other organs were transported in bulk to the icehouse.
Processed cuts of beef were pushed aside to drain excess blood. Once drained, they were immediately sent to the cutting room where women from the village busily worked. Machines sealing tons of meat operated continuously, almost smoking from the effort.
In the office area above the cattle shed, Anna and Eva started a live stream to promote their beef to audiences in China and other countries. Initially, everything seemed normal, but soon the comments section took a bizarre turn:
"Do your beef cattle listen to music and get massages?"
"Do your beef cattle drink beer and kvass?"
"Do your beef cattle get dressed up?"
Eva found the odd comments hilarious, laughing so hard she had to pound the table, causing her ample bosom to jiggle, much to the delight of some viewers. Anna, however, remained focused on introducing their beef cattle.
In truth, whether they streamed or not didn’t matter; their reputation over the years ensured they had no trouble selling their products!
"Why are you looking for my husband?"
A sudden comment flew across the screen, leaving Anna and Eva puzzled. It also confused other viewers since their stream rarely received gifts. Even if gifts were sent, they would be donated to a charity foundation run by Han Hong—something everyone knew.
Anna opened her private messages in the backend and chuckled: "Oh, they want my husband on their show."
Eva laughed beside her: "Sorry to this viewer; we’ll contact you to return your gift. Our Misha never participates in shows."
"Can I get a contact method? No need to return the gift."
Seeing the message from behind the scenes, Eva exchanged glances with Anna before stepping away from the camera into an adjacent room. They entered an office at the back where Daria was blushing as she organized her clothes while Xu Li lounged on the sofa smoking.
"What’s up?" Xu Li asked nonchalantly.
Eva pinched Daria’s backside playfully and helped smooth her hair: "Someone sent a hot gift wanting your contact info for an invitation on their show."
"I’m not going on any show; you know that," Daria replied firmly.
Xu Li waved her hand dismissively, but Eva thought deeper: "Don’t forget about Jia Guo and Jia—they’re almost adults now and can go on shows too. The boss has already established himself in entertainment; it’s time we considered these two kids."
"Yeah, Eva is right. Doesn’t Jia Guo want to be a star too?" Daria said as she wiped Xu Li’s thigh with a tissue. "You have some fame in China; it would be a shame not to make good use of it."
"Sure, give him my phone number. I'll ask what it's about."
Eva replied with an acknowledgment and returned to the live streaming office, sending Xu Li's phone number to the other party. She then continued to recommend their beef to Anna. Meanwhile, Xu Li, who had just pulled up his pants and stood up, received a call from the other side.
"Hello?"
