The group of K-pop fans is truly disgusting.
In the office, Xu Lei kicked over the coffee table, causing the secretary and several mid-level executives to shrink back in fear, not daring to make a sound. The World Music Festival was set to take place in Seoul, just a month away from the final competition.
A day before the finals, a music festival called the Huaxia Kimchi Music Exchange Conference would be held, inviting only idol groups with three or more members. It was clear that this was an attempt to exclude the Hua Xia Brothers. Among the idol groups, the K-pop fans prided themselves on being the best, claiming that no one dared to challenge their supremacy.
The mocking comments from K-pop fans online only heightened the anxiety of Hua Xia netizens. Aside from well-known groups like Hua Xia Brothers and Phoenix Legend, there were hardly any other groups worth mentioning, which explained why the K-pop fans were so confident.
Xu Lei's chest heaved with frustration as he glanced at the planning department manager by the door, glaring at him. "Speak up if you have something to say."
"Our company has recruited many trainees recently. Should we ask Xu Father to help write a couple of songs and form a group to participate?"
Seeing that Xu Lei remained silent, the manager continued, "We still have a month until the concert. The list of participants will be finalized in three days. If we work hard for half a month, we can create something and get it ready in about ten days for the concert."
"Just leave for now," Xu Lei said irritably, waving his hand. Once the office door closed behind them, he called Xu Li and recounted everything happening online over the past couple of days. Xu Li, who was busy feeding two children, raised an eyebrow and replied, "Got it."
After hanging up, she handed a bowl of food to Daria sitting in the shade and headed to the back recording studio. She turned on the long-unused electronic equipment and air conditioning, lit a cigarette, and began working diligently. Wasn't it just catchy songs paired with some dynamic dance moves?
Could I not copy? Or could my son not dance?
Looking at more than ten songs she had drafted, she made some adjustments to the lyrics before calling Anna and Eva, who were playing mahjong. The three began arranging and producing demos, working until late into the night before finally finishing up. They grabbed a quick bite before heading off to shower and sleep.
The next morning, as soon as Xu Lei entered the office and booted up his computer, he received an email notification from Xu Li that made him grin widely. He listened to each song's melody and blinked in surprise before calling Caishen Ye: "Brother, you really are my brother! Did you gather all these?"
"Didn’t I just spend half the night with your two sisters-in-law? Is there anything else? I'm exhausted."
"Please take care of yourself."
Xu Lei nodded eagerly as he hung up and immediately called his capable subordinates to send the songs to the music director. He turned to the company’s talent assessment officer: "You go select those trainees."
"We need a total of five girls for one group and boys for another group. The rest who aren't selected will be dismissed; we'll start recruiting again next month."
"Are we really going to let go of nearly a hundred promising candidates?" The HR manager asked reluctantly.
Xu Lei rolled his eyes: "Idol groups rely on youth; once they hit thirty, who’s going to buy their act? Just get ready for it. Oh right, Director Liu, that song 'Love Sniper' is a limited release. My four nephews will be coming to the company in a couple of days; make sure their songs and choreography are ready."
Several people left the office and surrounded the music director. One person grabbed a sheet of lyrics and, after reading it, couldn't help but exclaim, "Xu Father is truly Xu Father; he can master any style and is so prolific!"
"Get back to work," said Director Liu, who was about to head up to the Recording Studio. Suddenly, he turned to the HR manager and asked, "Among those kids that Old Wang has, are there any girls from the Korean ethnic group?"
"Yes, among those children, there are quite a few from the Korean ethnic group and other minority groups like the Uyghurs. When we were recruiting, we specifically aimed for diversity, so those kids make up about seventy to eighty percent."
Director Liu pondered for a moment. "Bring them all upstairs; let's first test their vocal tones and basics."
"Got it."
The group dispersed, and about ten minutes later, a lineup of handsome boys and beautiful girls from Xiao Bai Ren arrived at the Recording Studio, ready for their assessment.
