The night outside Seoul was as tranquil as still water, broken only by the occasional distant bark of a dog, adding to the sense of desolation.
A group had just evacuated from a secret Gang Stronghold, and the air was thick with the acrid smell of gunpowder and blood, making one feel nauseous. The echoes of the explosion still lingered in their ears, and faint glimmers of fire flickered in the ruins, illuminating the weary faces of the three.
"Damn it, these Chaebol lackeys just won't quit!" Jin Jeosu spat, clutching his wounded arm as blood seeped through his fingers. His face was pale, and his breathing was rapid, clearly having lost a significant amount of blood.
"Everyone stay alert!" Park Bucheng shouted, his sharp gaze scanning the surroundings. "This is just the beginning! Li Zhenghao won't let this go easily." He held his backpack tightly against his chest; inside were confidential documents stolen from the Chaebol Gang Stronghold—crucial evidence that could bring down Li Zhenghao.
Before he could finish speaking, a screeching sound of brakes shattered the night as several black cars appeared like ghosts from all directions, trapping them in the open space of an abandoned factory. The intense headlights illuminated them as if they were caught in a hunter's trap with no way to escape.
The car doors swung open, and a group of men in black quickly surrounded them, weapons drawn and aimed at Park Bucheng and his companions. They moved with precision and discipline, clearly elite enforcers.
"It looks like they're serious this time!" Park Bucheng sneered coldly, a glint of determination flashing in his eyes. "Kim Jeosu, Shun Ying, back to back! We fight our way out!"
Gunfire erupted suddenly, shattering the night's silence. Bullets rained down like hail as Park Bucheng and his team quickly sought cover and engaged in fierce gunfire with their enemies.
Using Graceful Wave Steps, Park Bucheng navigated through the hail of bullets with ease, almost ghost-like as he evaded attacks. Occasionally, he unleashed strikes with Six Meridians Divine Sword, sending sword energy shooting forth; several black-clad men fell to the ground with small blood holes appearing in their foreheads.
"Damn it! Why is this guy so hard to deal with?" Jin Da Yong cursed under his breath as he hid behind a car, watching his men fall one by one. He had initially thought this would be a simple ambush but was taken aback by how formidable Park Bucheng was.
At that moment, a helicopter roared overhead, circling above the abandoned factory while the wind from its rotor blades made it hard to keep one's eyes open. The cabin door opened to reveal a tall woman with blonde hair and blue eyes holding a sniper rifle, aiming directly at Park Bucheng.
"Sofia!" Park Bucheng recognized her instantly as the American mercenary known for her cold-blooded demeanor and precise marksmanship; she had made a name for herself on battlefields in the Middle East.
A cold smile curled at the corners of Sofia's mouth as she pulled the trigger. A bullet, carrying the scent of death, shot towards Park Bucheng.
In a split second, Park Bucheng sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the bullet that grazed his cheek, leaving a trail of blood. The searing pain sent a chill through him; this woman was indeed as formidable as her reputation suggested!
"Damn it!" Park Bucheng cursed under his breath, realizing just how ruthless she was. While dodging the bullets, he searched for an opportunity to counterattack.
The situation grew increasingly dire; both Jin Jeosu and Li Shunying were injured, and the enemy's firepower intensified. They were pinned down behind cover, barely able to lift their heads.
At that moment, the roar of car engines echoed from a distance as several SUVs sped towards them, stopping just outside the encirclement. The headlights flickered like beasts in the night, exuding an aura of danger.
Jin Da Yong stepped out of one of the vehicles with a group of men, wearing a hypocritical smile as he shouted, "Brother Park, I'm here to help you!"
Park Bucheng scoffed internally; Jin Da Yong was clearly putting on an act, intending to take advantage of the chaos! He had long suspected that Jin Da Yong was colluding with Li Zhenghao but hadn't anticipated his appearance at this critical moment.
Jin Da Yong's men joined the fray, but their target was not Chaebol's personnel; it was the backpack in Park Bucheng's possession. They pretended to attack Chaebol's security while inching closer to him.
In an instant, Park Bucheng understood Jin Da Yong's intentions—he was planning to double-cross him! "Not a chance!" Park Bucheng roared as he unleashed the Tianshan Six Yang Palm.
A powerful wave of energy surged forth like a tidal wave, creating visible shockwaves that radiated from him and sent nearby enemies flying. Some were even crushed internally and died on the spot.
The abandoned factory crumbled like paper under the force, dust rising and obscuring the sky. Debris and steel rebar flew everywhere as if doomsday had arrived.
Sofia was also pushed back several steps by this overwhelming force, her face showing shock. "What... what kind of martial arts is this?" She had never seen such powerful techniques before, and fear filled her heart.
Park Bucheng seized the chaos to break free with Jin Jeosu and Li Shunying, jumping into an off-road vehicle brought by Jin Da Yong. He slammed the accelerator to the floor, speeding away and leaving Jin Da Yong and the Chaebol's men to tear each other apart in the abandoned factory.
As the car raced down the highway, Park Bucheng glanced back at the receding factory, a glint of cold murderous intent flashing in his eyes. "Li Zhenghao, this is just the beginning. I will make you pay for this!"
